i would think deer antler would do well. given that its used in all sorts of places where bone is also used.

well, i think you're going to have to be the first one to pioneer that one. =) let us know how it goes

p.s. i'm pretty sure this thread was safe from juan martin jokes until you posted that lol

I personally like to use Jackalope antlers. Due to the rabbit, I get a nice bounce from my notes.

I used a whale tooth once. amazing. took a bit of negotiating to get it out of its mouth tho... seriously if the material is hard its good. I have found however that bone gives better results than ivory that seems a little softer. give it a try.
(was serious about the whale tooth)

deer anteler is great though i would advise as regards species of anter the red deer or elk antler as fallow, muntjak and other species tend to have more fiberous pores. i used it once for making a knife handle, red deer antler, great stuff.very hard to cut with a coping saw thoguh.

That's it sorted then - only three weeks to wait and I'll introduce Rudolph or one of his little troop to Mr 12 bore and have enough stock to last for years.

Guitarbuddha - I've got some special drawers for my nuts to stop any unnecessary contact with the saddles during storage.

HemeolaMan - what happened to the fellowship?

Yeah i wondered about that tooo, I don't know what happened to my fellowship

I wish someone knew about how that stuff works. I suspect it's because i'm a notable non-contributor lol.

putting it lightly, i don't add any flamenco related information on a regular basis, no one has heard me play.... basically no grounds for a fellowship

though on my behalf, i have none of the necessary tools to record or takes video lol

you could petition ron and simon for my fellowship if you feel that this is outrageous!!! lol jk, though if you feel inspired...... haha
