"La Fabulosa Guitarra de Paco d...

I saw the book and CD advertised on Flamenco-World, I thought what a great idea! book and CD to learn from, so I bought them and they arrived yesterday,
What a con! be warned, they both have the same title and feature matching photos on the cover, a matching pair, but the book turned out to be a compilation of PDL tracks from various recordings including 'Impetu' by Mario Escadero.
Only a couple of tracks from the CD.
Don't get me wrong, it's all good material, but not what I thought it was going to be.

Jim.

Never mind Jim, you can always do "Impetu" as a good warm-up exercise before you get down to some serious practising!

Ron,
How'd you get that great flag and where are you off to on holiday?

Jim,
I originally had Zurdo's monkey, but then Zurdo claimed it 'cos he was left handed and it seemed only fair.
So Simon looked around and got me something else!
Maybe Simon can get you a Celtic flag?
(You'll have to explain it to him 'cos these Sassenachs don't know about that sort of stuff!)

LOL!

Ron

BTW....Off to N.Wales....Mrs Trellis country!

Hey! I'm a Celt - or rather my ancestors were. Fighting Irish and drunken Scots to a man. I assume the Celtic flag is some kind of knot like the ones you find as a tattoo on the small of young ladies backs? Well, I seem too There are still some Scottish avatars left in the collection. I rather like the lone bagpipe.

Wow, that's disappointing considering all the hoopla of it being the 'official' version with PdL's collaboration, etc. I thought it strange when the sample page from the book was an alegrias from a later album. That caused me to hold back and wait. How's the transcription quality? Is it pretty accurate from what you can tell? I have the Japanese Gendai publication of 'La Fabulosa Guitarra' and the trasncriptions are pretty darn good, except they are in standard notation only, no tab. But all of pieces are from the album, including 'Impetu'

Eddie,

Yea! I know, that's what made me go for it. I haven't really got into the work side of the book yet, I need quality time to do that.

I must also add that I put the book to one side when I realised the situation, the tab 'looks' good however, at least at first glance.

Cheers!
