Actually I know a lot about this as airplane use acrylic. And I have drilled a lot
of them.

For drilling, there are specialty drillbits available, however you can modify a
standard drill bit. The key is, that you do not want the drillbit to be able
to dig in while chutting, as this stresses the acrylic, and causes cracking.
Take a regular drill bit, and grind it so the tip is longer. Let's say you have
a 1/8" bit, and the tip is about 1/16" (guessing) regrind it so the tip is about
3/16"

You can also buy a drillbit, called a stepdrill, or unibit. Which are available at
most hardware stores, home improvement centers, etc. They cut well and
won't cause cracking.

Avoid cold, drill it where it is warm.

At a secret undiclosed location, on certain day you may see something like this

I build planes in my garage as a hobby.

I fly them, here's the end result of the first one. The current project is a four
seater.

However, I must mention that this being a Flamenco forum, that my airplane
hobby definetly has an affect on my guitar playing since I do a whol lot less than
I'd like to.
