Flamenco Art - Julio Romero de Torres

Does anyone know where I can find prints by this artist? He lived in Cordoba in the 1920's and did some sizzling, sultry portraits of women, local "lounge lizards" and other denizens of the demi monde. ???????

sorry i can't help with your query but if you like sultry portraits of women and the like you might like Jose Cruz Herrera. see this link.. i think they are beautiful.

i have been searching online for some of his prints but to no avail.

It seems really hard to track down anywhere on the web where you can get prints by Torres, but apparently posters of his work are popular in Spain, so if you know anyone there or travelling there, maybe they could send you one back? I went to the museum in Cordoba and could have bought a book, but my spanish wasn't so good for reading at that stage
Good luck

Romanza,

Thanks for the link! I'll check it out!

P.S. I found a web site that has many of Julio's paintings. It's called Ciudad la Pintura.

Hi, Andresito -

Thanks for the tip! I'd like to buy a poster and also make a T-shirt with his image of Cante Jondo - it's the ultimate in flamenco decadence! Ciao!
