Flamenco Guitar Teachers in London

This is a bit of a long shot - does anyone know the wehereabouts and contact details of Tony Clinton or Jingles. They were my first flamenco guitar teachers and I have lost touch since moving to the States a couple of years back and would like to get back in touch.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Zane

Zane,
I believe you can contact Tony through the Spanish Guitar Centre (Don't know the number, but it's in the phone book)
Jingle is based in Granada.
Cheers
Jim.

Hi Zane,

There are not that any people about called Jingles so I am assuming it is the same guy. I believe he is living here in Granada down on the coast. At least it has been a while since I saw him in town. He is very good friends with Emilio Maya who is recording in our studio and will be around later. I shall ask about for contact details, and it may even be that my partner has his number on his mobile.I'm sure we used to have it. I'll get back to you later after I've asked around.

I once met Jingles, when he was working at a Flamenco Bar/Club in London, Tony Clinton or Francisco Antonio is an amazing guitarist up there with the very best creative guitarists. If your in London there is Philip John Lee as well who gives lessons.

Hi Zane

I tracked down Jingle to Almuñecar and I have his mobile number if you want to get in touch with me privately.

Zane,
Here's a link to Jingle I think you might find interesting. It's a year old, but I believe the guitars are still for sale.
Cheers

Granada the town is about an hours drive ( now we have the new road) from the Granada coast, ie Motril, Almuñecar, La Herradura which are in the province of Granada. Wish I was down the coast today, the weather is gorgeous.

Hola

Jingle is muy flamenco, in all senses. He tried to sell me a real bummer of a Jeronimo Peña with a cedar top, many years ago in London. Thankfully, I refused it and kept on looking for the guitar of my dreams. He is a great guitarist and a very engaging person, well worth meeting.

Are there more than one Jingle(s) ? The Jingles I knew sold second hand cars, sold the odd guitar (more as a middle man) and played guitar, somewhere in London. Teaching English! doesn't sound right. He said he lived in Seville for years. A really nice guy.

This is the same chap. The way I heard it, he left the car business in the hands of some else while he went to Spain, and they turned him over. A really nice chap, as you say.

Here he is with Vicente and El Pele in 1983. The other bloke in the background is Michel Iven.

cool pic!

i had some lessons with jingle about 15, years ago when he was last living in London. I remember turning up for an hour lesson at 12pm which stretched 'til about 9pm and included accompanying Marcial (Heredia) singing and dinner!

Funnily enough, I had my first lesson with Tony yesterday. Brilliant teacher.

Here's his details.
