Amboyna Burl Cejillas

Hey everybody. Just wanted to share my latest creation for anyone interested in a truly unique cejilla. A very pretty wood that has many eyes similar to bird's eye maple but, in my opinion, more interesting visually. They are available at String's By Mail, but I thought I would post a pic here so you can see what the wood really looks like, and sprinkle a bit of beauty amidst the recent ugliness .

I'm interested to know what you think about the wood. Please share your opinion. Thanks.

Very Nice Ykabban,
Beautiful wood. These also look very good workmanship wise.

I have to admit that I'm a shubb user.
But If I ever wanted to experiment with traditional
cejillas I definately would want one of these!

The wood looks like Van Gogh's skies...

Ykabban, your capos are really cool. Will probably buy one in a time.
Have you tried/thinked about these type of inlays (sort of a "crux"), instead of the rounded one ? The rounded one goes well with the overall design, but the crux could be an alternative.. I like them very much personally, and it feels "traditional" (this picture comes from Alberto Pantoja' website)

Good question and funny you should ask. Recently I found some innovative ways to inlay strips as well as those diamonds with seamless margins. It's actually quite easy but very time consuming the way I do it, so I'm unable to offer them at this time. By the way, I have about 5 cejillas as well as two guitars from Pantoja. He doesn't make the cejillas though. Wonder how the old man is doing. Here's a pic from my college days of he and I in his shop. Check out all that cypress. He has some of the best cypress I've ever seen.

Excellent !
I saw recently a Pantoja for sale in Germany for 950€. Sounded like a good deal but haven't got the dineros. Pantoja has a good reputation as far as i know...
Hope you will manage to offer diamond cejillas in the future..
