For Simon

Hi,

I have some PowerTabEditor falsetas that I really want to share with the group, but I noticed that the uploading dock does not support powertabeditor files, so is it possible to change that? I thought that PowerTabEditor was more popular. I think it's a great program. Anyway, let me know what you think. By the way, they are bulerias falsetas by Paco de Lucia from Duquende's last CD. I hope you can help. thanks

Oh PH Oh , i want i want :) sounds greate

Does PowerTab have a export to midi option ?

IF you can export to midi, Table edit has select import Midi and than you can save it as a tef file.

let me know how it went or you need more help
and thank you so much for sharing :)

RE: For Simon (in reply to Florian

Hey,

Yeah... I've tried that but I would have to change all of the fingerings and some of the notation as well as the dynamic markings.

I have also tried exporting and importing the ascii file (just the tab file), but that results in a jumble of the rhythm in tef form. Actually, I could just post the tab file, but I find it hard to decipher tab files by themselves, especially in this case because these are very syncopated falsetas. I think they require standard notation along with them.

I am willing to write it up again in tef or gp4 format, but I'm not accustomed to using those programs and I'd like to share it as soon as possible. I am very surprised that this format is not supported. It is a great program and I found it for free somewhere. I would recommend that people have a look at it. "PowerTabEditor". Anyway, we'll see what Simon says, and then I'll do what "Simon says" . Or if you have any other suggestions...

Yeah! I liked that alegrias silencio. Very nice.

Okay, in the following messages, I am gonna try to upload the tab files. They are in txt format, and they can be opened with notepad but my word processor does not display it correctly. Oh well...

I am trying to post it on the site www.flamenco-teacher.com in its proper format. I am just waiting to hear from the site administrator.

Bulerias falseta 1 - Paco de Lucia (in reply to Conrad

These are two falsetas (the main ones) from Duquende's Niquelao, off the album Samaruco. They are very syncopated and harmonically appealing in my opinion. I am still working on playing them myself. The full bulerias is quite advanced and mouth watering, again in my opinion. In fact, I think the whole album is this way, including the other bulerias with falsetas which I might transcribe as well. I hope you all can enjoy them. I am very confident that the transcription is correct, and it gives me a good workout for both hands. It will definitely help to listen to the recording because there is no standard notation here. I will try to upload it in the audio section for others who do not have the recording.

Here is the first. It starts the piece.

You just insert numbers with note values and when finished a bar, you just put a bar line down and start the next bar. I just find it to be very well laid out, and it has all you need for writing guitar. Once you fiddle around with it a bit, you'll find it very easy.

I put the first falseta into Guitar Pro format. If anyone wants the 2nd one in that format let me know. Conrad, please check it for errors. This is a little out of my league, but I might give it a try.
Phil

PS. I just discovered that you can edit your messages after they're posted. Nice feature, Simon. Now we can go back and change what we said and say we never said it.

RE: For Simon (in reply to Phil

Nice, Phil! Thanks! I only picked out a few small mistakes: one in the third bar when in those ninth chords there is a pull-off to the 3rd fret on the 3rd string. Also, in the 9th bar, 4th string, 2nd fret is supposed to be tied. And in the 17th bar, the last note should be open A instead of open E. Finally, in the 21st bar the second note should be fret 8 instead of fret 5. These are not important though. I mean hey, I only hope that my transcription is correct!

That's really awesome of you, Phil. I couldn't get it to work. Something about having to change the number of strings in guitarpro. Very confusing to me. It would be great if you could do that second falseta, too. Then more people could make use of it because the administrator at www.flamenco-teacher.com (I can't discrimate) is willing to post it in that format. I guess PowerTabEditor isn't very popular. Although it should be. By the way, everyone... it's a free program.
