strong A string

I have a classical guitar that I like, but the A string is too powerful and really pops out there. Of course I can adjust my playing and account for it, but I wonder if there is a way to make the fall in line, in terms of volume, with the other strings?

RE: strong A string (in reply to Miguel de Maria

I guess you might try swapping your A string for one from a warmer or mellower set. I've seen guitars that look like they have basses from one brand, a G string from a second brand, and high trebles from a third. I think some online string dealers will sell single strings, which would save you having to buy whole sets just for the A strings!

This probably won't get you around compensating a bit in your technique, but it might help a little.

Travis.
