Stew Mac is the only source for Sloane tuners as the manufacturer, Waverly, is owned by the same people. At least that is my impression. I agree with you that they are very nice machines and personally there is nothing in that price range that I have seen that work nearly as well.

They are definitely solid tuners. I couldn't tell you how much they weigh but I don't think they are going to make a grand difference.

P.S. By far the best tuners for the money. They work like a champ!! I have Sloanes on both of my guitars. They're great!!

If you want quality, I dont think you will find anything lighter. The ones with a leaf baseplate are very small, so they are not heavy.

Remember that a reason that they work so well is that the baseplate is solid and the gear is solid.

Lighter tuners like fusteros have thinner baseplates and thus less stability and the quality of the gear of the Sloanes is amazing
