"The Art of the Guitar is a rich, photographic exhibition dealing with the various aspects of the construction of a concert Spanish guitar. The painstaking process of building a concert guitar, as well as the skill, creativity, and dedication of the artisan, is beautifully captured in the black and white photos of photographer Maria Isabel Lopez Gonzavalzez in the Granada workshop of John Ray." Thank you Stephen, next time you find yourself in my part of the world (or I in yours) I will trade a book for a fancy set of chopsticks. Postage makes it a bad idea now. I made a set in ebony for my sister-in-law one Christmas but have never managed to make one for myself.
Hello Joan, The provincial government was unwilling to fund a reprint even though the sales were good for the first edition. However I have begun a new version which will be very similar but include the new makers in Granada. I cannot give you a date for the new publication.
Morante makes a good point. Would a go-fund-me drive help? Or perhaps the Foro could get involved in some manner as a patron? Not necessarily for a reprint, but to help compensate you for your efforts in creating the new edition. I suspect nobody gets rich off of a project such as this and some level of aid may be helpful.
Thanks for the thoughts, the delay right now has nothing to do with money. I think I can finally manage the financing myself but a lot of copies will need to sell before I get my investment back. I will be counting on you all.
