Deep scratch, french polish

I have a guitar that is french polished.
There is a 1/2" long scratch that is thin but deep.
It's hardly noticeable but does go into the wood.

Can I wipe or push some guitar polish or wax of some kind
into the scratch and then buff it off the french polish?
A professional touch-up is a long drive.

This is not a cosmetic question. Should I be concerned
about periods of high or low humidity?

Do you realize that the inside of the guitar has no finish on it?

You should always be concerned about extremes of humidity, especially low humidity. The scratch doesn't matter.

I was worried about moisture getting under the french polish
when the humidity is high.
I recently noticed the scratch, I've no idea
when or how it got there.

Please don’t get me started 😆

I had a friend in California who is a professional guitarist married to a
Brazilian woman. He did something untoward and she put his guitar on the floor and jabbed it in the face with her high heels 😂 His bossa nova gig was cancelled. Things like this amuse me 😆

Sure, just blame it on the Bossa Nova ... as long as it wasn't Rumba ....

We can’t really say anything about a finish repair without photos and then more information. But some general advice, with scratches and finish damage don’t put anything on them like wax or polish. That will make it difficult to do a proper repair. Scratches are best left alone, applying any compounds, wax or oils goes into the raw unfinished part of the scratch and will either make that area darker, or prevent a repair finish from sticking.

Just be glad you didn’t flirt with a woman who isn’t your significant other, and get the heel treatment.
