Look at what he does at 1:16. Sorry it's not right hand flamenco technique.

yeah and even modern players don't know how to play flamenco guitar techniques properly.
look at 0:10 , its both, not left hand and right hand flamenco technique ,,, showmanship abominations which can not be accepted and should be called out

This Rey guy is an incorrigible perpetrator. He does it again at 2:43 and 3:59. Each time he slows way down after the harmonic, while the cajonista keeps playing bulerias compas. Rey must have been ashamed of himself. Eventually he recovers, catches up and starts playing bulerias again. I couldn't stand to watch any further. /s

I will apply to the Flamenco Technique Police to have his Flamenco License revoked, as soon as devilhand gives us the FTP's contact info.

I hear that Oud is built for a tinny tone, and most front rank Oud players change their instruments frequently because in time any Oud mellows

he is under the false impression that flamenco comes from Arabic music, the Oud players who accompany makam singers exemplify this in his confused mind. he does not find harmonics used in proper flamenco so would rather hang out at the OUD forum which is clearly more flamenco than Sabicas and friends here.

What are you talking about Ricardo?!
Flamenco is little more than Arabic Bluegrass music. 😂

I've fallen in love with the beautiful sound of oud. I wanted to explore it more and mistakenly I ended up with flamenco. I would never have started my flamenco journey because of solo flamenco guitar of Sabicas or Paco. The only reason is the sound of oud. After 5 years of flamenco journey I already started liking flamenco as an art. Particularly cante accompaniment and falsetas that sound like a melody run played on oud. My fav flamenco guitar technique is thumb. Who knows, maybe I'll buy my first oud before I get my first flamenco.

The mellower the better.

Old Islamic proverb:,

The oud is the voice of god, the devils hand must never touch it.

Old flamenco saying:

Should the hand of the devil stroke the guitar, the guitar will become ten fold against Debel. Or be rendered into a bell of clay.

Inshallah

I’m not so sure this is a good journey for you…

It’s still not too late to take up golf, where the devil’s hand is constantly in play.

I can relate. My first draw to flamenco was by listening to zambras.

Cheers

Amen. Well, I’m mid 40’s but headed in that direction lol!
