This thread raises a lot of subtle questions about art, freedom, tradition, respect, and other significant abstract nouns. I’ve tried to think it through but I can’t get past the fact that a long-time collaborator with Moraito is also the perpetrator of ‘Mammy Blue’, and in spite of that crime still at large and hiding in plain sight on the panel of a talent show.

Fakemenco is not that deep of a concept. Don’t rack your brain over it.

Perrate's 2022 'Tres Golpes' album experimental and puro at the same time? e.g.

This album has a 18th century antigua "Seguiriyas mitologicas de Alonso". Interesting to hear.

On a tangent, Perrate himself has become more experimental recently and has talked about researching the golden age to find fresh ideas for today. He even experimented with lowering his vocal tone by an octave after reading chaconas and other works from the 17th-century, which were the inspiration for his latest album. But in stark contrast, he then chose to work with Rosalia's former producer (Raul Refree) on the record. He said he was convinced because Refree heard the demo and said "This has to smell like wood. We have to make a record that smells like wood." The result is a really interesting record.

JFC on a pilot bread cracker! How did I miss this one? Sometimes I don’t check in to the Foro for weeks at a time… bet I play this album non stop for two weeks! It’s so real. I know about five words of Spanish that are not profanity, he could be singing about missing a car payment for all I know but talk about,…about,… soul(?) striped down to truth but full of feeling and power off the chart. I love it.

Oh ****, I sound like a music reviewer ;)

Edit: thus album had a hint of that mass that Sabicus put on an album, cont our my finger on it exactly, just a feeling…

doesn't have to be fast,
should have some meat on the bones,
can be raw or well done,
as long as it doesn't sound like it's turning green on an elevator floor.
