Great video. He’s got a fake thumb nail going on, and he messes up the ending and has at it a second go.

My dad wore that same corduroy jacket to my high school graduation.
I like how he saved it and then looked a bit self critical. I think what he was really thinking is the last two nights before the TV show he was doing too much coke. I know what that looks like because I watched that look on my parents and you don’t forget that.

Clearly shown at 1:40, p up, a down, i down. As a gallop rhythm. Then p up on the contra beat.

You are all over the place. simply put “yes” that is the mechanism but there are various important rhythmic distinctions going on in each example that would take a long time to detail. Using tresillos mechanism for 4 note subdivisions has many tricky aspects.
