Sadly, Perico has stopped playing. Last summer Juan sang for his Peña but Manolito Jero played. I asked him for his father: he said he is his house, tranquilo. Since he did not want to say more, I take it that he is not well. Last Friday, Juan sang in his Peña, El Niño de la Leo played.

I'm sad to hear that about Perico, hope hes just retired rather than unwell. he said to me sometimes he got real bad aches in his wrists and thumb from the playing over the years. made a joke about a cars engine burning out. I took lessons with him a couple of times and they were always memorable.

This was from 2018, you wouldnt think he was having problems.
