Tilting my guitar produces a sound o...

Hi everyone.

I have a luthier made guitar and I started noticing a problem when I tilt it (for example turning it to a perpindicular angle) where it I hear a noise of something moving inside.

The best way I can describe it is like having a a bit of sand or small stone inside. Its not persistent when Im playing it but rather when theres huge rotations to the whole guitar. Does that mean there could be an internal element that has been displaced from its original place or got broken? and which piece could that be?

You sure something didn't just fall in the soundhole? Pro-tip from players who use picks: turn the guitar so the soundhole is on the bottom, and shake

HAHA. Good idea thanks. I'll try that now.

I just wanted to make sure that nothing broke or fell off from an inside component that luthiers would be more familiar with.

Yeah I wouldn't know. What you described just reminded me of the sound that a pick makes when it falls inside.

With picks there's probably a better way but I'd just move the guitar around so gravity would make it slide to where I wanted it to be.

It could possibly be a fan brace that has come partially detached. I once had a customer sit on his guitar on his bed by accident, and that happened.
