RE: new build for 68' Conde style fl... (in reply to Tom Blackshear)
Just to clear up some mis-information several years ago about the Manuel Adalid classical guitar advertised on You Tube as being my guitar build.
This was Manuel's personal build with my fine tuning added to enhance its tonal concept. Manuel took my fine tuning class here in my shop in San Antonio for a few days, 2 years in a row and learned it well.
Manuel now fine tunes his own guitars with an accredited master's knowledge of my fine tuning coarse.

Let's discuss a little fine tuning of the top: This is open to ask questions if desired.
The 1968 top is strutted fairly tight in the middle area, as it is shown on this pattern and it is necessary to relieve its tightness a little by sanding the middle around the bridge area.
I'm going to stop now and open this for any questions regarding top tuning, which I'll be happy to share with those who have an interest regarding my fine tuning techniques.
And as soon as Jearson gets through with the binding purling, I'll have some video of the actual process.

No video yet but the bridge has been installed and Jearson took the guitar back to his shop and is now going to finish the guitar building phase by installing the fingerboard and frets, then string it up and take it back to my shop and we'll do the fine tuning before the French polish.

Up date:
The fingerboard has been installed and the frets should be done in another week, then delivered to my shop for fine tuning, and then we'll proceed to French polish with pictures of the different segments leading up to the end result of the entire build, with a basic price quote.

I hope Tom is ok, gets logged back on and continues this thread.
I have found this fascinating, along with the Adalid thread. I'm surprised Tom doesn't get replies to his posts here. One might think they are unvalued.
Tom, I hope hope your health is holding up, and that you get back on.

I spoke to Tom a couple of months ago. Our phone conversations tend to be fairly long. Among the topics we discussed, I asked him about a health problem he had briefly alluded to here, mentioning chemotherapy. He said that after one treatment the problem disappeared. Subsequent tests confirmed no relapse.
