Haptic feedback metronome

I was searching online for a haptic metronome and the best available option seems to be this thing which is basically a more powerful vibrating watch with an app on your phone.

https://www.soundbrenner.com

Further investigation reveals it doesn’t seem to work that great. The problem is the vibrating mechanism is not precise enough. It uses one of those little motors with a counterweight like cell phones. So the thing has a very slight ramp up and decay for each beat. They should of used a different type of mechanism like a tiny seleniod or piezo to actually tap your skin. Maybe you guys have seen something else?

I’m actually thinking about making a better version myself if I can’t find anything. More for an excuse for an electronics project than anything.

The whole idea came to me from my dogs electric training collar which has 100 levels of “stimulation”. Shock is somewhat of a misnomer for this unit because it’s more like a TENS unit. Basically you can dial it in so that it feels like someone is tapping your skin or going higher it feels like a pinch. And I just want to say that I love my dog more than anything else and would never want to hurt him Except to save his life from chasing after a bear or something

Id be careful with a vibrating metronome. You might have guitarorgasms.

I'm interested in a haptic metronome as well, and as far as I've been able to find out on the net, the imprecise vibes of the Soundbrenner device seem to be an Android problem. Supposedly using the iOS-app works fine ...
The overall feedback I came across was positive.
So where did you get your information from?

@estebanana: What's wrong with guitarorgasms ?

I didnt know about the app platform discrepancy, but I also think the whole app thing is overrated. You have to use the app to adjust the bpm, pull out your phone etc. will see..Maybe ill give it a go

Lol. It’s Ancient gitano technology... Uses of this gadget are kind of narrow
