Certified Spruce Tone-wood?

Been a while since I visited this forum and I totally miss the vibe..

I'm in the middle of ordering a custom Oud which I want to have a German spruce-top instead of Cedar which is commonly used for Ouds. So I figured I would ask here in this forum since flamenco guitars and spruce tops have always been best friends.

Where can I get a certified quality spruce tonewood to send to my luthier in Baghdad to use for my new instrument?

I live in the US but I don't mind buying it from anywhere and ship it to Baghdad.

Your advice is much appreciated.

Ali

Thank you so much, John. I'm checking it right now and even the prices are decent.

I know a guy in Germany who has aged Euro 'German' - Picea Albies - might be cheaper to Iraq- although his prices are higher. PM me for name.

Try Andrea Pahler

http://www.alpentonholz.de/

He is my preferred spruce source (and also he is a friend of mine).

Akustikwood.com is in Turkey and I have always received great wood from them. Service is a bit slow though.
