Guitar identification

What guitar is Jesús Guerrero playing in this video?

By the way he's selling his 2007 Manuel Reyes Hijo:

My guess is Sanchis Lopez f centenario.
I assume he may have used that guitar just for the videoclip. He mostly plays on Mariano Conde and Jeronimo Perez.

You're probably right (the rosette and the shape of the 2 slots in the headstock lead there) but then the headstock shape would be on a custom design.

I am not convinced that is a Jeronimo Perez that Jesus Guerrero is playing. Headstock, rosette, top purfling, unbroken 19th fret, plantilla are all untypical of Perez. If you look at the label it's not possible to read but Perez has two labels neither of which have that border.

Jesus Guerrero does have a Jeronimo Perez you can see it here:

Looks like Diego del Morao has borrowed a Vicente Carrillo.

as well as the headstock

same rosette

Yes could be, the headstock is similar.

Great find.
I was also trying to hunt for the right maker as the last picture posted by Orsonw made me definitely think it wasn’t a Jeronimo Perez, both for the Rosette and the reddish label. I couldn’t imagine him playing a Mexican guitar though..
Probably he used that Huipe guitar just for the video: in fact in all the pictures Guerrero posts in his Instagram page and YouTube videos you can see him playing a Mariano Conde or a Jeronimo Perez.

Btw also Antonio Rey plays a guitar with an unusual headstock (with a hole in the centre) in his last video. No ideas about it?

Hi .

I have one mejias blanca.
There are incredible guitar. Diego no play With barba or conde now.
Only With his mejias.
Sometimes With his primo s guitar. Vargas. ...

The price is ridiculous due to the quality .

The tension is perfection so easy to play. The quality of sound is outstanding.
Perfectly tuned too.

For me it's better than conde devoe barba. .. and for sure better than the other less celeb maker.

I am not a publicity man of this guy. Just an happy owner.

RE: Guitar identification (in reply to Plazoleño

Greetings Plazoleno,

I am writing you to see if you have any sound clips of your Javier Mejias flamenco.

It seems Jerez is turning out some wonderful young Talent in it's guitar builders.

I contacted David Vargas a couple of weeks ago to have him build me a top end blanca...we will see how it plays and sounds in about 6 weeks or so...I don't think I will be disappointed.

Be well.

James
