Iberia airlines - okay with guitars ...

Anyone flown to/from Spain using Iberia in last few years?

From my reading of the policies for Iberia at

https://www.iberia.com/web/product.do?cntCat=Productos/EQUIEE&cntId=Instrumentos_musicales&language=en&country=GB&market=GB

I can take my guitar onboard if 'Musical instruments under 30x120x38 cm '. BUT my Hiscox liteflite hardcase, at the widest point, is 42 cm.

I don't want to get stuffed with a huge surcharge at the last moment. Ben there done that with Ryanair, who i will avoid like the plague for the rest of my life.
