Festival de la guitarra de Granada 2...

Here is your chance to show you are the best guitar-maker under the sun! I don't have details yet but a guitar-making competition is being held in Granada in October of this year. It seems a bit short notice for those of us who work to orders so I don't think many of us will be able to participate. Actually I don't even know who will be eligible. In July and August the same festival will host some great concerts, check out the full program here. http://www.granadaexpert.com/johnray/

If it is international I'd be tempted to give it a go.

The rules for the competition have now been published. Looks like it is aimed at non-professionals. Furthermore it looks like the submissions will not be anonymous so there goes any hope of objectivity.

At least they're honest as to what to expect:

"The jury´s failure will be indisputable"

To paraphrase Inigo Montoya: You keep using that phrase. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Oh well, it sounded good. It's what we call in the US art market a 'vanity gallery' a place where amateurs pay to get strokes from known commercial outfit.

But yeah I like a jury that enforces its own failure!

"The jury´s failure will be indisputable and assumed by all the contestants"

... ah, expected by all the participants.

Ok, you've had your fun, the English translation has now been corrected. I am sure that some of the younger makers from Granada will take a shot at it. Any takers on the foro?
