Where the hell is everybody from????
Here is something that kinda bugs me ... and it came up with Our dear Ron that got on to a few people , including me ... there are hundreds of members here and new ones every so often ...yet the vast majority never put anything on there profile to give some kinda clue as to location.... not country , or even hemisphere.. I dont mean you have to put your post code and GPS co-ordinates on but country and kinda area....maybe .. I mean if you are on here its cos you are involved with flamenco in some form or another , playing , singing , making guitars etc ... . . And people always ask things like ...i going to Spain , where can i go to find flamenco players and learn? ,,,etc etc ... yet, some of you could have the chance , if you so wanted , to meet people who may not be that far from you ... but we never know cos its never there to see ....is everybody that embarassed about the country they reside in ?? or just too lazy and cant be assed to type in anything .. i put on mine , Ireland (now , although i'm not irish ) , i have met a few people from here , if i get a message from one of them i can be more specific about my location knowing that they may know it ..ish ... thats ok ...
All i see is this ...and I'm reading between the lines ... . hi i'm a newbie ,,,and i want to learn everything , and be great ,and want you to take me seriously and teach me all you stuff and send TABS etc ... but in return I just cant quite be bothered to say where i'm from or anything at all ..thank you ... ,..... the lethargic apathy absolutely does bug me ....
I think it should be 'urged to complete ' something in order to be here... really

a lot of not learning flamenco went on up there
Can't say I've been up there all that much. I'm more of a lavapies kind of guy and I spend an embarrassing amount of time at the matadero. I've been living on the south side as well, though closer to the city. I live between the gypsies and the big park, which should narrow it down considerably for those who know Madrid and mean nothing at all to those who don't.

I like how you said "where the hell" because where I am from originally is the perfect embodiment of the word "hell".. That said, I take it I'm that newbie who's on the complete opposite side of this issue that I even pathetically included country of origin in my username although I must say that in the middle of this ultra-nationalist sentiment spreading across the globe (Trump, BREXIT, Chrysi Avgi, Neo-Nazi.. Etc) I wasn't far off by merely mentioning the nationality of my inanimate ultra-nationalist Oud..
HOWEVER, I'm still that newbie who wants "to learn everything , and be great ,and want you to take me seriously and teach me all your stuff and send TABS etc" and if all it takes is to share my location in return then you bet I'm gonna post a copy of my home lease here in the Foro as well as a list of my previous addresses during the past five years..

Any chance you'd have any recommendations of Iraqi music to listen to? I've got a CD of Farida and the Iraqi Maqam Ensemble (called Voice of Mesopotamia, 2003) and I quite like it, but that's about as far as I got...

There is also the foro map. Super useful when travelling around and wanting to see who you might be able to meet up with. Go ahead a stick a pin roughly somewhere in your neighbourhood (doesn't have to be placed right on your doorstep). https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=14zoO_FM9dwDlpQLu8N62khCvslU
