El guitarrista Jose Luis de la Paz (conocido como Jose Luis Rodriguez) hizo pública su decisión de cambiar su nombre artístico a través del siguiente comunicado:
“Queridos amigos:
Hoy quiero comunicaros algo muy especial: A partir de este momento, mi nombre artístico va a cambiar para ser Jose Luis de la Paz. Con este nuevo nombre quiero homenajear especialmente a mi madre, la cual sigue en España, adoptando su segundo nombre.
Este cambio es también una oportunidad para mis seguidores de encontrarme más fácilmente en los buscadores de internet y en las redes sociales; asimismo, pone énfasis en una transformación interna que me ha llevado varios años y que establece nuevas metas en mi carrera artística.
Agradezco a todos mis seguidores que siguen apoyando mi trabajo y espero seguir luchando para dar a la guitarra flamenca el mejor de los prestigios y la máxima calidad posible.
Como celebración de este cambio de nombre, podréis encontrar en exclusiva en mi website, el disco “Escenas de Yerma”, obra de García Lorca, para la que compuse música en 2003, como encargo de la Junta de Andalucía para las noches del Generalife de Granada, y que fue dirigido, por la Maestra Cristina Hoyos y Jose Carlos Plaza.

Como saben, el guitarrista onubense, Jose Luis de la Paz, que recientemente fue nominado a los US Artist 2016, reside en Miami (USA) desde 2011. El pasado año presentó en Miami su primera obra sinfónica Avalon (Suite para Guitarra Flamenca y Orquesta). En estos momentos se encuentra preparando la banda sonora de la película “Finding Compás”, de la directora Kathy Douglas.

GUITARIST AND COMPOSER JOSE LUIS RODRIGUEZ CHANGES HIS ARTISTIC NAME TO JOSE LUIS DE LA PAZ
Flamenco guitarist Jose Luis Rodriguez has announced his decision to change his artistic name to Jose Luis de la Paz in honor of his mother via the following announcement:

Dear friends:

Today I’d like to share something very special. From this moment on, my artistic name will change to Jose Luis de la Paz. With this new name, I’d like to honor my mother who is still in Spain by taking on her second name.
This change is also an opportunity for my audience to find me much more easily on various search engines and social media platforms. It also highlights a deeper change that has taken various years and sets new goals for my artistic career.

I greatly appreciate all those who follow my work and have supported me. I hope to continue working to open new and prestigious spaces for flamenco guitar of the highest quality.

To mark this name change, you will find my new release “Scenes from Yerma” for sale exclusively on my website. The project is based on the work of Federico Garcia Lorca and is an original composition commissioned by the Junta de Andalucia for the Evenings at the Generalife in Granada. The work originally premiered as part of an evening length work under the direction of Cristina Hoyos and Jose Carlos Plaza.

Jose Luis, originally from Huelva, Spain, and residing in Miami since 2011, was recently nominated for a US Artist 2016 Fellowship. Just last year, he premiered his new symphonic work Avalon: Suite for Flamenco Guitar and Orchestra in Miami, and will present it in the coming months in Spain. He is currently working on the soundtrack for the movie Finding Compás directed by Kathy Douglas.
