it was really popular at the time

....i used to watch it nearly every day...
the worst part was the keyboard player in our dance band looked like El Chavo ,, and the drummer was like Señor Barriga ..if you remember the charecters....

Learning the seven shape patterns should be called El Chavo Del Siete Methodo.
