RE: spanish bits (in reply to minorthang

This is my proposal.

thanku all and best wishes => muchas gracias a todos y buena suerte

this will get better with age => (I´m not sure): vaya mejor con tiempo

and what famous players use that model ? => que tocadores/guitarristas famosos tocan este modelo?

i always play out of rhythm => siempre toco fuera de compás

how does this.....different from ...... => ¿que es la diferencia entre .... y ....?

the price is too expensive , cheaper please => el precio es demasiado caro. ¿puede(s) hacer una otra/mejor oferta, por favor? or ¿hay una otra/mejor ...? or ¿es la última oferta?

btw. I´ve sent you a PN

Mejorará con el tiempo.

Important suggestion: Be specially respectful with women in Spain and smooth jokes about them or irony. In the last years any use of the language about women is rapidly perceived as offensive even for Anglo-saxon standars.

¿Que tocaores buenos utilizan este modelo? ->better
¿Que tocaores conocidos utilizan este modelo?

"Siempre toco fuera de compás." When you always play out of rhythm
"he perdidio el compás", "Estoy fuera de compás" or "voy fuera de compás", etc... At certain moment when you are playing.

"Cuál es la diferencia entre este/a... y este/a ... ?

Guitar is femenine.. (therefore ... esta)

quote:

The price is too expensive , cheaper please
("The price is too expensive" is too direct for a Spanish, even offensive. Specially for a good Luthier that wastes hours and materials to buid a guitar)

It is too much for my budget. Could you give me a reduction on price?
"Es demasiado para mi presupuesto" (or "Se me va de presupuesto"). "¿No podría hacerme alguna oferta?"

Important suggestion for outsiders when they are dealing: Spanish are quite open to dealing and price reduction but not hunggling. There are people that make the mistake of understand Spain as an pseudo-arabian country in that sense.

It is usual the "gift" when you buy a expensive item. For example, in guitars, could be that sometimes the shopper does not want reducing his price but he could give you a good case...

another useful sentences folks ?

"Le invito a ..." (older people/respected person) or "te invito" (usual) I invite you to have a drink. +

"Esta es un guitarron increible!", ... very good guitar.

ah! play well and do not talk too much about the stupid importance of the guitar model. You knowledge about woods in a Vicente Cariillo model does not solves anything if you" has perdido el compás".
