She owns him here, it's her right hand technique and amazing duende. I only wish they repeat that theme a few hundred more times. And the pick-up quacking mids is amazing, he should put the reyes on ebay.

Mmh whatever. Don't care... I don't have to watch it as long he does other things with his band. Have you seen this?
"Dame voz picha"
Another thing, people touring around the world rarely play with people who have the same level. At that point things like better or worst aren't important anymore.

I don't believe he does that for the money, he has enough. Maybe he just enjoy what he does. Tierra was different but it's very, very well composed music. I doubt there is only one music producer in this world, who's thinking you can earn a lot of money with an celtic-flamenco-fusion-guitar album. I believe his producers give him a lot of freedom. Compare it to John Bean Nephews new album. Vicente seems to be a nice guy and when he gets invited to play anywhere he may say just "Ok" and not like an pretentious a'shole "No, they play not as good as I do. I'd only share the Stage with Paco and Sabicas"

The fact that Mr. Amigo is a bad-ass guitar player, adept at moving his fingers, does not mean he has good taste in music. Taste is subjective. There are all kinds of great musicians who have terrible taste in music.

well they can all say now they were on stage with Vincente .. and a feather in their cap it is ... Bit strange though i found the music getting pulled around like a sheet was going to tear .. Vicente with his distinctly non Spanish sounding tune ...but spanish style and Gabriela trying to pull it into a rumba shape but it wouldn't quite fit . ,.. so the flute solo goes a bit Irish ' cos he doesnt know which way to go ...

Maybe he just likes them-they could simply be friends.......or given my cynical outlook, it's a business decision. R&G's fans are Vicente fans in the making. He's exposing himself to thousands of their fans, and they are also gaining credibility among Vicente fans, or at least they hope. Or, it could be one of their manager's ideas. Either way, I think VA gains a lot from this.

I have seen it, and listened to the cd a few dozen times. I think it's a masterpiece.

Why not play with other musicians, altough I think R&G on this board could mean anything like ribs & grill or something like that...
Since he made his last record very non flamenco I suppose people like "R&G" are very suitable to jam out with him if they play that type of music in general. Even if they don't play very well. Personally I'm not a big fan of this kind of easy listening flamenco fusion music altough it's sometimes quite beautiful sounding.

Man, it was like R & G were the guests of Vicente... He totally schooled them & they were doing nothing effectively from a guitar standpoint. Rodrigo just decided to relinquish his instrument & play cajon & Gabriela just did a useless strumming pattern without much percussion (as she normally does) which really didn't add anything to Roma... Vicente could have totally performed on his own on that stage & he would have captured the audience just as well as he did with the rest of those musicians. Olé to Vicente, and a valiant attempt by Gabriela, but thwarted...

Not sure how they're ruining it, I can barely tell they're there.
Uh, I thought VA's sound was pretty decent for a piezo thingie. Reverb tails out kind of ugly though.
Most of my post was sarcasm....but I must admit, Vader Showenov (sorry can't remember the name) playing the venezuelan waltz thingy had a way better piezo tone.
