A Blanca Neck!

Here is a neck for a terz guitar I'm starting. The wood is achihua. It's lighter than mahogany and has a good ring when tapped.

I don't mean to demean your decision but why in the world would you use this wood as opposed to Spanish Cedar which is readily available and the accepted best neck wood?

Lest you think I'm a "stick in the mud" the first guitar I made had a Philippine mahogany neck and after that I used S. American Mahogany for years until deciding that there was no substitute for Spanish Cedar.

Oh I love Spainish Cedar! This guitar is going to be a 3/4 or Terz guitar for #2 grandson. It will be a steel string. The B&S will be of maple and will be dyed his favorite color. Also the neck will be dyed.
But I will miss that smell of Spainish cedar.
