Mucha gente, incluso en España, confunde flamenco con copla, y este foro no es la excepción (recuerdo un hilo de Morante sobre Poveda donde alguien tilda a sus versiones copleras como fakemenco).

Dicho esto, el disco en cuestión es un homenaje de Paco hacia el ambiente musical de su infancia, cosa que vosotros no podéis entender porque provenís de una cultura diferente.

Yo soy mucho más joven que Paco, pero recuerdo a mi abuela viendo los programas de copla de tve de los sábados por la mañana, a las vecinas cantando coplas mientras cocinaban, etc, y si escucho "apoyado en el quicio de la mancebía..." Se me ponen los pelos como escarpias.

Por tanto, no podéis entender plenamente la ternura y la belleza que encierra este tributo de Paco hacia su tierra, y me duelen los ojos al leer críticas hacia este disco considerándolo inferior y comparándolo con otros discos o artistas con los que no tiene nada que ver.

How did Paco come up with all these original songs on this album??? Genius! And I'm glad there's none of that annoying cante stuff, whew! Just straight guitar the way flamenco should be! Besitos!

Your english seems fine to me except for when it doesn't suit you. As you can see there is the word song and the mention to fakemenco is clearly regarding sound.

HTF is that mistaking coplas with anything?

Morante ya nos a enseñado que todos los maricones saben y aman La Copla mas que nadie.

No anda desencaminado, Miguel de Molina el que aparece en uno de esos vídeos, se tuvo que exiliar en Argentina durante la dictadura del General Franco por ser abiertamente homosexual en los años 40 del siglo XX.

En general, a los gays les gusta mucho la copla, y los espectáculos de variedades de un homosexual travistiéndose para actuar como una diva de la copla son un clásico de la andalucia profunda.

La nueva estrella de la copla es Falete, quien canta vestido de mujer y en femenino, como si fuera mujer.

Ricardo, si eso dice Morante, manantial de la sabiduría flamenca, el esta en lo cierto....esta al corriente de la musica espanola...tiene mujer espanola, comprendes ?

I listenned to this disc again today and was struck by its depth and subtlety. Truely beautiful and masterly.
