Ugh, this is not my year for guitarists passing. Stylistically my favorite player, sounded like strings were just on the verge of breaking under his fingers. I went completely Nino Miguel nuts when I first got into flamenco and I still listen to his album at least once a week. My condolences to Tomaito and family, huge loss to us all today.............

For ****s sake wasn't he just getting better? They did the documentary about him a year ago and said he was slowly getting his **** together, he did his first concert in years...****.

I clicked on a video above then I started watching more of him on You Tube.
From what I gather he was not doing too good recently? Besides his health, I mean. There's a video (not this one) of him playing for tips in some bar on only 3 strings, and some of the user comments were a bit disparaging...makes me kinda sad Does anyone know any details about his circumstances?
From the stuff I've seen so far this is my favorite. A vals flamenco. Beautiful...

A big lost to the flamenco world......man what I enjoy his playing.
Maybe we must be a little happy that at the end of his live, after struggling a lot and playing on the streets for a little cash, he had a little revival with the documentary and the performances he had again in a big hall.......he was back again for a short time.......

I too thought he was getting better but it seems he spent his last month of life in the hospital, suffering from pneumonia complications and intestinal problems.
Here are two videos of his last real performance, a year and a half ago at the Teatro Central de Sevilla:

Damn.. a huge loss for flamenco. What a ****ing genius he was.
I think we were lucky to see that last stage in his life where he was doing better and even performing publicly. He died too soon but at least it seemed like he was able to experience some of the dignity and respect he deserved towards the end.
