Beginner Cante Class this Spring 

Discover cante at Flamenco Latino this Spring! Cante (flamenco singing) for beginners is led by Basilio Georges.

Spring Session runs April 1 - June 6, 2013 for classes. Adult Recital on Friday, June 7th.

Spring Term Prices:
One course, 10 classes, $170 ($17/class)
Walk-in $20
4-pack $76 (must be used within 5 weeks)

In this course, students will learn the basics of flamenco singing, emphasizing diaphragmatic breathing and voice placement or "impostatcion." The class will start building upon basic cante repertoire such as sevillanas, tangos,fandangos and rumbas. The class will also focus on flamenco rhythms and handclapping, flamenco scales and terminology so students can communicate in the traditional lingo with guitarists and flamenco dancers.

Lyrics and translations of the "letras" will be provided. The course is taught in English, and no previous knowledge of music or Spanish is required. It is ideal for people who want to deepen their understanding of flamenco music or for flamenco dancers who want to broaden their experience of this art form.
