1968 Flamenco Guitar built by Isidro...

Construction de Guitarras' De Alta Calidad
En Flamenco y Concierto
Constructor Isidro Garrido
Para Rafael Morales
Apartado de Correos 227 Granada (Espana)

Purchased in 1967-68 in Madrid for $300 US. Lightly played for the past 45 years.

Guitar comes out of the case on Christmas for a few songs. Amazing playability with mellow and forceful tone. Straight Neck, no buzzing, original finish and no pick guards.

Very curious about its value. Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks for reply and Feliz Navidad

Thank you for the contact, I sent a photo and email to his granddaughter.

How do you estimate the value of such a rare and lovely guitar?

I would never sell it because it is very nice guitar and has great sentimental value?

¿Cómo se puede calcular el valor de una guitarra rara y hermosa? Yo nunca lo vendería, porque es muy bonito y tiene un gran valor sentimental

You said it ...already ..............

An object is worth what you think it is worth ...when you own it ..

on the open market there will be no sentimental value ...only monetary ...however this is also changed by what is popular or not ...at the time of sale ..

All you can really do is get an average of recent sales of his guitars , if any , against which you may have some kind of yardstick or starting point , by which to judge your own ..

Some of the professionals here , may have a better input than that ...and they are more then welcome ..

all I can say is ..I cant afford it , but would love to play a bulerias , and record that here ...oh yes ...

so .....play it ....or get someone to put something here for us to hear ...as a guitar was built for sound ....and the builder wanted that more than anything ...think about that ...

A nice looking spruce/Brazilian rosewood classical example dated 1964 and labeled "Morales y Garrido" recently sold on eBay for $1589.99
A Google search for "Morales y Garrido guitar" should bring it up.

Yes, that is a clean instrument: Morales Y Garrido - 1964
Thank you for information & helping me estimate the value of a custom built Isidro Garrido guitar. For now, I'll call it priceless and keep on playing.

I do not believe anybody bought that guitar on ebay. I was watching for a while.
I think the guitar on ebay was made by Isidro and the label was hand written but the other one is a standard printed label so the value is much lower.
I havent been able to find that much about the Isidero on internet.
