I'm curious - why is your clamping so asymmetric? In comparison to http://www.foroflamenco.com/fb.asp?m=212320 for example?

Looks like he's only glueing one binding at a time

Very awesome blanca, but the headstock seems a bit too much like conde hermanos type IMO

That is a pretty guitar Ethan. I think a little abalone is a nice touch on a guitar. Nice color in the finish too.

Ethan, I really, really like the Abalone inlays - makes the guitars look really classy (even more so, I should say). I looked at your website and you have surely made some gorgeous ones! I especially like the first one listed on your site under "Currently on hand". Wow, stunning!

Ethan, that is a lovely guitar. Are you using FP or is that lacquer? I ask because the color is really nice.

RE: "Luthiers share your creati... (in reply to jshelton5040

Thanks for all your kind comments, guys.

John, I use only french polish finish. I don't believe it is necessary for optimal sound, but the marine varnish I like made the household sick and lacquer I can only spray outside in the summer. Anyway, fp is probably the most beautiful. Labor and time intensive though! I mixed four differently colored shellacs to get the color I used on the back and sides, and used "beige" shellac for the soundboard.

By the way, John, I really enjoyed your playing on your Japan video. You added some really nice touches to some Sabicas material, among other things.

I've heard that before about my crest design. The funny thing is that I based it on this Ramirez.

I love your shellac color mix Ethan. Is it a secret recipe? If not I would love to try it...

Ready to start shellacking this bad boy. This guitar reminded me why I like blancas so much. It's going to sound amazing when finished as the sound gets a little more focused.
