New Transcription - Diego del Morao

Hi,

I just transcribed a falseta today that is by one of my favourite young guitarists, Diego del Morao. It can be heard on La Tana's recent solo debut, "Tu Ven A Mi", and it's from the buleria "Pasan Los Dias". It's quite tricky to play, and I'm sure Richard will point out some different ways to play it (I hope he does), but this is the way I saw it. Although I don't quite have it in my fingers yet, the fingerings seem to work for me. As far as getting it in compas, well, it will be a while for me, because this is a very advanced falseta. It's a real bummer, man. If I can't play it eventually, at least it was a good listening exercise. Anyway, enjoy.

Hey Conrad,

Thank for the transcription but I can't open it. What kind of file is it? Can you convert the file to PDF? Thanks.

un saludo, Errol

Hey Doitsujin,

Unfortunately, the mp3 file I have is too big to upload. Maybe someone could fix that, make it smaller or shorter, but I don't know how. Sorry I couldn't help.

Un saludo, Errol

P.S. Conrad, I also posted it on the Paco De Lucia Forum. I hope you don't mind. I know the Spaniards would love to have it too.

Hi, thanks friend.

Can you tell me the trick to converting it to PDF?

Yes, that's a great idea. I had forgotten about that foro.

I'm gonna try to do more transcribing. A lot of stuff is just in my head, and for others it was just a matter time and motivation. So in the next few days I'll have more transcriptions, if anyone's interested.

Here are the steps to convert it to a PDF file.

1. Open up the file in the Power tab program
2. Go to file
3. Go to print
4 click the drop down box were it says "name"
5. There should be an option that says "Adobe PDF" (obviously you have to have this program)
6. Click on "Adobe BDF and click ok.

That should do it.

If it doesn't work, I can do it for you and I'll send you the PDF file.

Un saludo, Errol

thanks, but hmmm... I don't have Adobe PDF as an option in that drop down box, only a microsoft imaging thing that is similar, despite the fact that I have Adobe. Anyway, I did download the conversion from your site, thanks. In the future, I will broadcast that they are powertabeditor files anyway.

p.s. I wish I knew what they were saying over at the Paco forum. haha

RE: New Transcription - Diego del Morao (in reply to Florian

Hola Flo,

Well, normally I transcribe stuff that I want to play, but I'm listening... It can't hurt to ask. I mean, I certainly hope to get requests, and if I also would like to learn the song, then it has more purpose for me. I only hope that whoever requests things is doing so not solely to challenge me, but that they genuinely want to learn the thing.

Let me guess, is it Raphael Rabello, whom I know you love? haha

Anyway, let me know...

Connie

p.s. What I was thinking of doing is broadcasting a list of stuff that I want to learn, and if people respond to some pieces more than others, then I will work on them first. Do you think this is a good idea?

Honestly do the ones you like first mate :-)

I have transcribem many things myself but I always embarassed to share them because most recently the Nice , I think is a Farucca intro (or some kind of slow silencio in cantinia) piece from Pdl from Carmen.

But with my transcriptions I always wonder off into my own falseta towards the end just to suit whatever i need it for. Like the Tomatito Solea por buleria Intro from the last album.

Conrad,

There has been a very good response from the PDL forum. I don't know exactly how accurate it is (I'm assuming very!) but they seem very happy to have it. One guy said he's been trying to figure out that falseta for quite some time, so he was very happy.

Un saludo, Errol

Flo,

Haha, gnarly... that was on my secondary list. I'll get at it tonight. Vicente is always tough cause he does a lot of ornaments on his notes, like long hammer on's and off's that are barely there. He's incorrigible. haha

Maybe I will do the falseta in the middle of the tune too. I was also planning on transcribing some of Vicente off of Merce's Del Amenecer.

stay tuned (and stay in tune)

RE: New Transcription - Diego del Morao (in reply to flamencoguru

hey,

That's excellent, Guru. I deciphered a little bit of it, like someone was wondering about the 205 marker. I've actually changed that to 210 (of course it doesn't matter what tempo you play it at) and I've adjusted a couple miniscule things that I discussed with Aloysius on the flamencoteacher forum.

cheers,

Con

p.s. You are the Guru. I watched your Zapateado video once again, and it made me smile. It's great that you look so relaxed when playing. Some day I hope to get this way for all that I play. It's truly a majestic piece.
