My photo of the week 43

I love my town. It calms me down. Taken today with a cheap Olympus mju-ii film camera.

Great shot! Where is that? (And don't say, "England").

I knew it! I visited Bath once, and that was going to be my first guess. But it's been so long since I was in England, and memories grow hazy...

I love the slight distortion of the picture. The central focus and the two buildings in the street that are kind of tilting towards the center, gives me a feeling that they are controlating you. To this, the B&W gives it age... There´s someting desolate about it. Like going to the central station in a former communist country. Is Bath like that?

What was in my tea this morning?

The architecture is Georgian and Roman, that is what I meant. Far from desolate, I just caught a quiet moment in the crowd heading towards the Roman Baths.

I've been traveling steadily for a month now, Italy, Germany, Norfolk and Suffolk. I decided to take a day off the day before yesterday.....in London. Wrong!

I should have gone to Bath.

The coastal borderland of Norfolk and Suffolk where my family lived for a few centuries could have been relaxing, but I was busy photographing old buildings for a DVD I'm making for the younger generations.

I'm in Cordoba now. What a beautiful city!

You should have looked me up Richard! Yes, Cordoba is pretty but I found it a little too cramped, hot and touristy. Take a horse carriage ride while you're there and then get across to Granada. It's not far.

I'm off to Sevilla tomorrow, then on to Granada in a few days. In 2007 we stayed a few days at a little hotel in a carmen just under the walls of the Alhambra and enjoyed it very much.

Larisa had to go back for work, so I have been on the loose.

Thanks for the invitation. Next time I'm near Bath, I will look you up. No idea when that may be....

RE: My photo of the week 43 (in reply to Escribano

theese days I am involved in a technical team, in a Town ( named Ruvo di Puglia) 10 km S-W the mine.
This small town is crossed by a very famous ancient roman road colled "Via TRAIANA" and the oldest part of the town is connected to the new part by a large street, sort of "ring", with very large sidewalks stone paved and with perfumed threes.
last time we met we talked about the "rings" in the urban planning,....so BATH was the main reference!.....

I like this photo because a nice example of "rue corridor" with "portico" on both sides!... I 'll show it to my collegues nex friday!

ciao
