Question about editing video in Adob...

Ok, computer, sound or video freakies, I need your help.

I import a mpeg4 video file with sound into Adobe Audition, I split the audio and video in multitrack mode. I edit sound and then what to do???
I want to save as a mpeg4 file with edited sound. Basically the same videoclip with sound but with edited sound. but I dont know how.

As far as I know, Adobe Audition is an AUDIO editor only. Therefore, you can extract the audio from a video (which includes both a video and an audio track) and edit it. However, to splice the edited audio back into the original video, you will need a VIDEO editing software. If you like Adobe, then you can try Premiere.

Cheers!

PS: I use Sony Vegas.

RE: Question about editing video in ... (in reply to Anders Eliasson

actually ramzi Adobe Audition works with videos too I use it for noise reduction

Anders I think there is an 'export file' option right ? or maybe 'render as' ?
I can't remember exactly

quote:

If a session includes a video file, you can mix down the session to create a new soundtrack in the same format as the video file (such as AVI, MOV, or WMV).

Choose File > Export > Video.
Do one of the following:
Choose a saved preset from the Preset menu.
Choose an option from the Audio Codec menu. Then select Mono or Stereo, and choose a sample rate from the Frequency menu.
Click OK.

there is a brief explanation about how to work with videos

if you still can't figure it out ... tell me and I will take snap shots
the problem is that I don't have audition installed right now

cheers !

Cool - I just tested that, and you're right. Thanks for the tip. I'll stick to Vegas though because I've been using it for quite some time now...

Don't you have ableton too? I think it does video as well but I haven't messed with that feature. I used Vegas years ago. I like the way it feels and looks.

RE: Question about editing video in ... (in reply to Anders Eliasson

I still dont get it.
So to simplify things: What I want to do is to open a mpeg4 file, edit the sound and save the whole thing as a mpeg4 file. Final result: same video with edited sound.... I mean.. thats pretty simple, no?

The export option only gives you the option of exporting the sound file (mp3, Wav etc)
Save as only gives you the option of saving as a audition file .sesx

I´ve read the help file but didnt find it very helpfull and I´ve searched the internet for tutorials.

Rombsix: You were the one saying that Hendrix used a logitech webcam and that he edited and tweaked the sound in Adobe Audition...

Correct, but then he spliced the edited audio to the original video using a video editing software called VideoPad.

Hello Andres,
this is how I do it :
first I go to the Multitrack section
I choose a track and then insert a video

RE: Question about editing video in ... (in reply to Anders Eliasson

after the editing get back to the multitrack tab
one click on the video and then file>>export>>video

if this is not working to you
you might need some special mpeg codec

RE: Question about editing video in ... (in reply to Elie

Anders, Elie's solution could work, i only edit the audio using Audition, then insert the edited wavefile back into the video using VideoPad...
but the next time i make a video i'll try and play around with Audition, maybe it's a better way...

Thanks a lot.
Your description makes a lot of sense and I´m sure it works and I think you´re right with the codecs.
Here´s how it looks on my pc.
Notice that you cant see the video on tope of the audio file and that there´s no video export option
So where do I get the codecs? I´m using windows7
