I just thought we could all help each other out in accompanying cante by puting the letras we know on this site. i thought we could do it this way: Solea Por Buleria A12 Dm10 Bb3 A10 then 1 compas & Repeat. C712 F10 run down to Bb3 A10 Repeat. So you've got the palo name then the chord followed by the beat it lands on (and how many compas the chord goes for, if nessesary) SIMPLE I hope this makes sense to you guys. I'll put one down soon......i promise!!! So if you have a spare 5 mins, please help us all out! CHEERS & BEERS Larone
RE: Anyone know chords for letras???? (in reply to larone)
Hi Larone,
I think it is a good and useful idea. As a beginner, I have not yet tried to accompany cante but I know I will in the future (of course it will be from a CD – there are no cantaores around here). I understood more or less your example but not completely so, I suggest to post some more detailed instructions for us all (including those who will also post songs) to follow the same model. Thanks in advance Antonio
RE: Anyone know chords for letras???? (in reply to Miguel de Maria)
I see chords, I no see letras. [/quote]
Sorry, i did actually just mean the chords. I was told that you have typical chord progressions for letras, so one progression could fit hundreds of different letras. As far as putting letras with the chords, alas this is something i can't do..........YET! I'm loving flamenco heaps at the moment and i'm very keen to become fluent in all aspects of its style. This will take a while but i'm super keen. To anyone not playing in a dance class, DO IT!!!! I go to 2 classes a week and it's improved my playing heaps quicker than just practicing in my room all day. What's so bad about watching a room full of women doing sexy flamenco dancing??? It's more inspiration me thinks Larone
