RE: Your reason for being in the for... (in reply to Doitsujin)
learning is I think will be the majority. I have to admit that when i first joined in 2009, I was seeking tabs and when I could not find anything that helped me because I had very little idea what flamenco was all about and i did not know about compas and palos. I stayed here for a few hours and left..... i disappeared and re-discovered the foro (after completely forgetting about it) after taking regular private lessons for 2 years and using internet for info. now im here just to learn, as now I can understand what people are talking about.

This is the first forum I ever joined, connecting with the Flamenco community, learning, exchanging info, entertainment are all reasons I could put down but really I'm just here for the hot chicks and an opportunity to put my foot in my mouth.

It's like you invited a bunch of people to a party and they all got obnoxiously drunk, and now they just won't leave...
I was gonna say that I'm just here for the chicks, but I'm pretty sure Kudo scared 'em all away with his creepy fantasies about the sex lives of pig "whores" and those feverishly imagined wife-swapping disco dance parties.

So I guess I'm just here to learn...

Thanks, Bacon. I’m happy to have met your approval.
On a less silly note, the thing I appreciate most about the Foro is the diversity of characters to be found here. My involvement with flamenco has brought me into personal contact and collaboration with people from a number of different countries and cultures, people I otherwise would never have met were it not for this one shared interest. And that diversity is greatly multiplied here on the Foro, with such a broad spectrum of folks of such a variety of ages and backgrounds, from so many different places and with such diverse experiences. It’s “virtual” contact here on the Foro, but it’s still real in its own way, and it’s something I value quite a bit.

I came here due to a common interest , and yes I have visited other sites as well , bu I kinda just stick here now .. At first it was to be in contact with others who do the same as me , but better, and yet having been here for a while I have found so much more than what I came for , I became interested in all the luthier posts , not because Im going to build one but just to learn , I dont get much playing from here , i get that from other sources , although one or two things I have nicked. with the exception of the challenges , something I really like , and I think that they help me big time , as I am alone in my little neck of the woods , things like that keep me on my toes knowing that others who know so much will be listening . I try to do my best for those. I did meet up once with a few from here and that is always good , and another chance to learn , And then there's friendship and just all the info here and so may different points of view on the same thing , also if you ask a question here , however trivial you will always get a few replies .... Yeah ......I'm a fan .......I should post more I suppose ....I would like to pass on some stuff to other beginners, but there are better people here to do that

Nothing BUT to troll, really. and read topics about nail strengthening, hambone playing and some weird political discussions.
that goes for me too. Trolling mostly.
Funny but I've never seen either of you trolling. Especially you Deniz, always providing a rational viewpoint of things. I was thinking about your 'art is bigger than people' argument a lot lately actually. I must say I disagree, but maybe that belongs in a different thread...
Some days are slow and I entertain myself by 'interacting' with complete strangers. Although I've gained a lot from this place - met a few members, got some gigs, made some friends.
