Bump for Romerito's library. I got up to F, so here is F#.

E-0--2--0--0--2--0--0--0--0--0--9--0-----
B-0--0--0--0--2--0--0--7--7--7--7-11-----
G-0--0--3--3--0--2--2--6--6--0--0-12-----
D-4--4--4--5--4--4--0--4--5--8--8-11-----
A-4--4--4--4--x--4--4--x---x--9--9--9------
E-2--2--2--2--x--2--2--6---6--9--x--x------

So hows about someone (romerito?) adding to all these and helping finish up G-G#?

They don't have that for mac so any chords you put in Gp4, also put in Pdf if you would not mind!

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to Ricardo

Ricardo : Guitar pro does exist for mac. I have GP 5 on my powerbook.

By the way I find the "encyclopedia of flamenco chords" really interesting. But I think we must make it with a software, like GP5 for instance. If not, we won't be able to share the work (collaborative work) and update versions easily (+ the quality will be better).

I've yet retranscribed in GP5 the chords you wrote from A to C. With the permission of Romerito, I will add his chords to my file and will upload in the end the GP file + PDF (with as much chords I will be able to transpose from your posts Ricardo).

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to sorin popovici

Nice initiative!

I made a simple .txt of the chords posted, missing G and G#
All I did was collect and align them, but perhaps it could aid someone put them into better format?

This really ought to be turned into a printable PDF book. Using GP5 or some other software could one make chord-sheets instead of writing in tab? It would be some work for sure.. but thinking ahead it would make a nice chord-appendix to "Foro Flamencos Great Book of Flamenco Guitar" :D

I've uploaded a GP5 and a PDF file with all the chords given in this thread...(I hope I do not forget some, or made mistakes by transposing to GP)

It's in the Upload section/tabs/LIBRARY - Flamenco chords encyclopedia

Hey, if everybody put a little of himself, we're gonna make the biggest flamenco chords encyclopedia in the whole wide world

Thanks guys. What I really wanted was some help adding to the list, by root, not necessarily a progression based on a key. We still need G chords and G# chords, and any additions to the A-F# we have already. I guess in Romerito's progression there was a C chord and a few others that I had not put up, but to make it clear, a progression is harder to pick out possible substitutes and stuff. That is why I wanted to isolate by root name, more or less. And no need to give the literal theory names for the chords, just the fingerings.

Ok G chords.

E-1--1--x--0--0--0--0--2--3--7--x--0--0--10-10--0--
B-0--0--0--0--0--0--2--0--3--0--3--0--0--0---0---0--
G-0--0--0--0--0--2--0--0--6--0--0--0--0--0---0---4--
D-0--3--0--4--3--0--4--4--3--0--4--0--0--0---9---3--
A-2--2--2--2--4--4--5--5--5--x--x--10-8--8--10---2--
E-3--3--1--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--7--7--x---x----3--

Minors
E-0--3--5--3--
B-3--3--6--3--
G-3--0--3--3---
D-0--0--3--0---
A-1--1--5--x---
E-3--3--3--x---

Don't understand the proper root name for this, but it is used by PDL often in bulerias, in this case, in A phrygian, "por medio". I guess we can refer to it as some weird G chord:

E--3--
B--3---
G--5---
D--3--
A--4---
E--3--

Ive been trying to find some good software that was a bit more visual like the chord charts in guitar pro. Anyone knows of something like that?

I have a few things i could share as well, like harmonized scales and progressions but they are easier to digest in chart form, at least for me.

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to sonikete

I will do an update of the GP file+ PDF this week-end with all the corrections/new chords so far (Jon, El Ted, Ricardo). I've also found some (weird) new chords in my books.

Sonikete : I only use GP, so I can't help you on that "visual" question. But I think if someone has a lot of free time, it is possible to put all the chords in a visual form (the chart form) in GP4.

Un saludo,
Vincent

Sonikete : Do you have GP5 ? If it's yes, there is the answer to your "visual" request : there is an option under the "window" menu called "guitar neck". With this you'll be able to have a visual view (fingering) of all the chords listed. (It's perhaps also available in GP4)

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to Ricardo

Ok, I had hoped this would get a "sticky" so folks could find it easy. I just spent some time with the search function, and could not find this. I typed the title and did not get it. So here it is again. Oh, and in the tab section a long time ago I had this:
quote:

Good addition on the A phrygian chord. I just remembered a similar chord used a lot arpegiated:

3
3
3
2
0
X

Still waiting for folks to do G# to finish off the chromatic scale. (Think Minera.) I will get you started:

E--x--x--0--4--0--x--2--2--
B--1--x--0--4--4--0--4--4---
G--1--5--6--6--5--3--4--5---
D--1--6--7--7--6--4--x--x---
A--0--0--6--6--0--6--x--x---
E--4--4--4--4--X--4--4--4---

Ricardo

Please add to this whole thread or use it as a reference. There was this also, someone put alot of these in pdf if you can't read the type version:

What a great post this was. I found simply pasting it in to Word worked fine. Very useful indeed. Found a few inversions that i had not seen before.
I think this is a pretty comprehensive list you came up with. I Thought of a couple of missed E chords and added them to rebound this post to the top and maybe get a few other missed chords added now people have had time to go through them.

E 0 0 0 0 12
B 1 5 0 9 12
G 1 4 7 7 10
D 2 2 6 6 9
A 2 x 7 7 7
E 0 4 0 0 0

I call this chord Mclaughlin E (cos i first saw him do it) but i dont know its real name. Its a bit of a stretch!
E 5
B 5
G 10
D 9
A 7
E 0

yeah, this is a great thread. i vote for making this a sticky, and cleaning it up so the first post shows all chords in a comprehensive list, that way it will be easier for people to assess everything and contribute. it's up to ricardo and simon though. perhaps it could be moved to the tab section, and have links to the most recent pdfs, gp5 versions in the first post, below the pure text list.

if there's interest, i can try making a comprehensive printable, graphical solution in pdf, similar to gp5 chord charts, so people can have a nice printed list in their guitarcases etc. i wouldn't mind some help in sorting/gathering the material and getting some more g#s though, because i'm no chord expert and i'd probably make mistakes

Definitely. Now, how about a similar series of some imaginative progressions?
