All Flamenco chords in Tab3 votes

I don't know of a real good chord book for "flamenco" chords, and since this question gets asked a lot, I thought maybe some of us could "make" one. So I will start w/ all the "special flamenco A chords" I know, and others can add to it. We can go from A-G# in the future. So here are the "special flamenco A's" that I can think of right now before bed.

E-0--0--0--3--0--0--0--0--0--x--5--5--0--0--x--x--0--0--5---0--12--0--0--
B-2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--5--5--5--4--x--x--5--3--5--10-10-10-11--
G-2--3--0--3--2--2--2--3--2--2--6--7--6--6--6--x--3--3--3--9---9--9---9--
D-2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--8--8--8--5--7--7--7--3--x--7--11--8--11--
A-0--0--0--0--0--0--0--0--4--4--7--7--0--0--4--0--0--7--0--0---x---0--0--
E---------------5--6--3--3-----3--5--5---------5--6-----5------9---9----------

good night....

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to Ricardo

Thanks Ricardo those chords are useful!
There is a reasonably good flamenco chord dictionary in the front of Volume 1 of 'Traite De Guitare Flamenca' by Oscar Herrero and Claude Worms. This section also has combinations of the chords given in the dictionary. There are about 20 E chords, 20 A chords 20 G chords etc.....It basically covers the E and A phrygian chords.

Cheers,

Andy

this is GREAT! Thanks for the post, as this relates to 'our' art, where these are not chords generally know/acknowledged in most material one finds.

I printed this out, and as I watch a movie - my neighbor, classical guitarist Randy Pile - taught me this trick (Randy is a great classical performer, and I always threaten to convert him to 'The Dark Side'), we rent DVD's, put the subtitles on, and 'read' a movie while doing all our drills, so these chord changes are great to just work up the scale on while watching..

kooool....Graciás!

No more A chords then? Ok, Bb (also known as "A#").

E-0--0--1--1--0--0--0--0--5--0--0--5--x--x--x--0---0------x-
B-3--3--3--3--3--3--3--1--3--3--3--5--3--3--x--6--11-----0-
G-3--2--3--3--3--0--3--1--3--3--3--7--3--3--7--7--10-----3-
D-3--3--3--0--0--3--0--0--3--3--7--8--3--3--0--8---8------3-
A-1--1--x---x--1--1--1--1--0--5--x--5--5--5--8--0---x------1-
E------------x---------1--1---------x--6--6--4--6--x--10-----1-

Of course some of the shapes used for A up on the neck, can be used the same, just a fret up.
Can't think of other "special" ones right now.

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to Ricardo

Ok B chords, or special ones used in flamenco (not some bar shapes we used already though)

E--2--2--0--2--0--0--0--0--0--0--2--5--2--0--0--0---0---x----0--0--
B--0--0--0--0--0--1--4--0--0--4--4--0--3--2--3--0---0--12----4--4--
G--2--2--2--2--2--2--4--4--5--5--5--5--2--2--0--5---8--11----6--4--
D--1--1--1--1--1--1--4--4--4--4--4--4--0--0--4--4--10--10----4--4--
A--2--2--2--0--0--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--6---9---x-----2--0--
E--x--2--2--2--2--x--x---x--x--x--x--x--2--2--2--7---7---11----------

I am sure there are more...

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to Ricardo

Ok, some of you guys know this but arent' helping me. It is going to take me forever, but here goes.....
Next up is C chords.

E-0--0--0--3--0--1--0--0--0--3--0--2--0--0--0--
B-1--1--0--1--1--1--1--3--3--3--5--5--5--5--0--
G-0--0--0--0--3--3--0--3--3--0--0--5--6--7--9--
D-2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--5--2--5--5-10--
A-3--3--3--3--3--1--1--3--3--3--3--3--3--3-10--
E-x--3--3--x--x---3--x--x--3--x--x---x--x--x--8--

And the bar shapes we used before, taken from 8th fret or wherever the inversion is.

Now C#, the list gets shorter...

E--1--1--x--4--0--x--7--2---x---x--
B--2--2--2--6--6--x--6--2---x---x--
G--1--1--1--7--7--6--7--4--10--x--
D--3--0--0--6--6--0--0--3---0---0--
A--4--4--x--4--4--4--4--2--11---4--
E--1--x--1--x--x--x---x--4---9---1--

etc

No, pisha. Its just that you know and most of us don´t. Although incapable of using the information, I appreciate it and feel that I owe you a few tapas in El Faro, should you ever manage to make your way from Sanlúcar to Cádiz.

Hello Ricardo,

Very interesting topic here.
Here and there are some interesting chords I didnt know.Thank you.
But I have a display problem, that makes it hard to read the chords.
The lines of the chord-summaries do not have the same length.
Which kind of letters (characters?) would make it work?

Hey Doitsujin,
If you start a new text file (xxxx.txt) in Windows Notepad, you can then select/copy & paste Ricardo's TAB sections into it. Then just make sure you set the Notepad font (Format menu) to Courier New (or any other mono-spaced font).

And thanks to Ricardo!

RE: All Flamenco chords in Tab (in reply to Ricardo

The browser indents the lines if your window is too skinny.

MAKE SURE THIS LINE YOU ARE READING GOES STRAIGHT ACROSS AND IS NOT INDENTED

Now assuming you have it wide enough, the way to read tab is as if the guitar is lying down face up, in your lap. The dotted lines--------are the strings, the numbers are the frets. So it is like looking at the neck, with frets indicated by numbers. The strings are in this order:

E(mi)=first string
B(si)=2nd
G(sol)=3rd
D(re)=4th
A(la)=5th
E(mi)=6th

The number "4" indicates the 4th fret. The number "0" is the open string, etc.

E-----------------0-------0-----
B--------------5----------5-----
G----------4--------------4-----
D-------6-----------------6------
A---------------------------------
E---------------------------------

Reading left to right the notes are G#(4th string 6th fret), B(3rd string 4th fret), E(2nd string 5th fret), and E again (1st string open). When the notes are separated, you play left to right, so this is an arpeggio. When the notes are written vertically, then they are played together as a chord.

I put the alegrias E chords in the tabs section the forum. There doesn't seem to be a way to paste text here-at least I can't figure it out! If anyone can move the post here, please do! Hope you guys like some of these chords.

Looking at these chords, I find that most of them, even if all the way up the fretboard have open strings being played. That's quite interesting! I wonder why.....
