Saw this video. Blew me off of course. Just there was this scene and i thought: is this real? At 1:05 she makes a sign with the right index, i think it is towards Aguilera. 1:08 she does this effect with her voice which also Aguilera likes to use. I thought: did she just quote her in that second?

After that Aguilera reacts also to that. Now this is all granted that the video was not intentionally cut in a way to make it appear like that. That would be so lame, but i somehow dont think so. I mean it would be too winded up. I think she just knew that she could pull it off in that moment, or maybe she practiced it too, i dont know. But basically i think she just did it and quoted her.

Sad thing about this girl and all the other talented singers in such shows is, they sing covers very well, better than the originals, but they always fail with their own compositions.

It is really the first time i understood what "raps in the voice" means. I think she had the perfect rasp for this song. Also that her voice didnt break although she really pushed it hard is very impressive to me. Have no idea how often i played back that video
