Where are you sitting on ?

Serious!

We got a nice modern dinner table, with nice modern dinnerchairs.............
Nice to sit on for a dinner, but, can you guess (?) not nice to sit on while studying flamenco...

So I decided, to get a new chair or stoel ( that is english right?), to play guitar on.

Where do you guys play on, pianostoels, ordinairy kitchen chairs, laying in your jacuzzi,

any tips????
regards, Peter

I too sit on a chair without arms. Being comfortable when you play is very important. You don't need any distractions like your back or butt hurting while your playing because you'll start thinking about that instead of the music.

I used to sit on a stool but found that I couldn't keep my back straight. I would start to learn forward to much.

P.S

On my search last night, I stumbled on a egonomic guitar chair.

I think he is only useful for the classical guitar position.

This is the site: http://www.theguitarchair.com/

Regards again, Peter.

You could probably use this chair too for flamenco if you play in the classical guitar position but, you DON'T need a $300 chair! I would rather use that money for learning material such as books or videos or even money to pay a teacher.

I found a dining chair with no arms and horizontal strut across the front to take my heel. Had to break up a set but it works great.

Peter, I was just going to mention that chair! That is what I have. I got it about 2 years ago. It's the perfect hieght, padded, and good quality made. It folds up also, and goes with me where ever I go to play. Because of the way it is designed, it will not allow you to slump over.

To me, it's the perfect compliment to my guitar!

Simon;

I not only notice the shrunken guitar but I notice you are invisible. Did you know you were facing the other way when your picture was taken? Or were you taking our picture?
