Guitar humidifier? 
I got my Bernal blanca in August in Algodonales, and since then it's spent a couple of months in New York and the rest of the time here in Cambridge, UK. at_leo_87 recommended I use a humidifier for the guitar, something like this:

which I haven't been doing so far. Is it important to keep the guitar humidified? Does anyone have any thoughts on the humidifer I linked to here?

If you live in a very humid area you don't necessarly need one. Places like Canada where we have very dry winters and humid summers you will need one during the winter.

Thats the one I have been using and it works great

Just use one if it gets very dry. keep a hydro meter in the same room you keep the guitar you will soon know. I would say anything below %25. Although I kept my blanca in my car over the cold cold winter and a hot summer. as an experiment and it hasnt changed a bit so it's not always nessacery.

I just left my hygrometer by my guitar case (perks of being a cigar smoker! ) and it reads about 40%. So not terrible but I think I'll pick up one of these humidifiers anyway.

40% is fine and in my opinion it's not worth the risk of shoving anything wet into the guitars soundhole.

Err ... For those assembled in Sibiria or Arizona?

If built under common conditions 40 to 50% RH would be optimal. Below ~ 38% over a longerp period of time better to take measures.
25% should be past death sentence to most, unless their wood was stored and processed at similar conditions.

Especially not those hose-like thingies. They touch back and sides easily.

40% is fine. I think a lot of people worry too much about low humidity and guitars. I control the humidity in my workshop between 45-50% but I don't humidify any of my guitars at home.
I've seen a lot of guitars with mildew inside from overuse of a humidifier. And the sound definitely suffers if the wood is saturated.

I'm not saying don't worry about it at all but be careful how you use the humidifier. Only when it's pretty dry for an extended period.
