Alegrias in E - falsetas? 
For many years ( hate to say how many) I've always played Alegrias in A, which is the way I was originally taught in Spain way back in the Franco days.

Recently I discovered Alegrias also sounds pretty good in the key of E, but can't seem to find many TAB falsetas in E or E minor salidas. Can anybody suggest where I might look? TAB's video;s etc.

Well, the good news is that pretty much any alegría ever (at least, post-Franco ) is in E (you'll hear it a lot in C but usually for accompaniment, and less often than E) so you can look.... well, anywhere you would normally look for falsetas. Books, tabs online, whatever. Depends on what you're looking for, what level, what style, etc.

If you want to start with something straightforward, there's one in Paco Peña's book.
Also Escudero's 'La Rosa' is transcribed in one of the Herrero-Worms books (but I don't remember the title right now).

The Graf-Martinez Book 2 has some falsetas in C and E...

You can try:
Sabicas - Ole Mi Cadiz (from the transcription book Rey del Flamenco)
Paco Pena - Alegrias de Cordoba
Both resolve on Em. I start with one and switch to the other in the middle. I usually find the Sabicas transcriptions a bit more difficult than the Paco Pena ones.
Both are available from Alain Faucher. If I understand his latest offer correctly, you can get 4 transcriptions for the price of 3. Expensive perhaps but 4 transcriptions will keep me entertained for a very long time. I am not like Grisha Goryachev who can learn a piece in one day. It takes me months.
When I look at it that way it is very cheap entertainment.

Alegrias in C was usually called Caracoles, the Alegrias they danced in Madrid with fans. Alegrias in E was more for singing and in the old days, we called it Alegrias por Rosas. I love it in E. More melodic. Alegrias por fiestas, in A, is faster, at least this is what I was taught in the early 1950s.

Is Escudero's La Rosa similar to the one Paco Pena plays called La Rosa? It's on the Pac Pena Flamenco Guitar Music of Ramon Montoya and Nino Ricardo album.

I'd love to find a transcription of that.

Hi Cameraman:
Like myself, you must have been one opf the early generation of 'non-Spanish' flamenco guitarists who invaded Spain in the '50's. I was also in Madrid (near Plaza Benavente). We also called Alegrias in C ;"Caracoles" and in E ; Alegrias Rosas.
My teacher (Manolo Bonet) was a 'dancing' style teacher, and preferred to teach Alegrias in A.

Still looking for some nice variaciones en Mi, though. . .

Nino Miguel - Entre Mazagon y Sanlucar (Alain Faucher )
If Im playing to an non Flamenco audience ,which I always am unless Im in Spain , I like to play to play as many pieces as possible in a major key and people seem to like Alegrias in E and A nearly as much as I do.
The Nino Miguel piece is mainly in E minor but remember Alegias means JOY !!!!
