Group Tangos?

Hey,
I thought when Florian came up with the idea for a Group Tangos, then that was supposed to be what it was about!
I mean...like..we've only got 5 contributions out of about 50 of us in a Month!!!
Jeeez! I had to work real hard to get mine in before the end of July after which I went on Holiday for 2 weeks, thinking it was the was the finishing date!

Come on guys, nobody is expecting you to play like Paco or Tomatito!
For Christ's sake, surely you can strum a few bars of compas at least?

It's not a contest for the Premio Nacional de la Guitarra Flamenca, for crying out loud!
Just a bit of strummin' along with the timing loop that Florian provided.

If you don't, then I will personally take it to mean that you think you are such a goddam good player that you can't quite come up with the right falseta that fits your image of yourself at the moment, but thank you very much.
Maybe next time.

Look, we need entries.
The best you can do, nobody can ask for more than that.

Sitting back and considering, it's a pretty good bunch of players on this Forum.
There's Phil, Jim, Patrick, Florian, Tom, Merle and Simon and others, considering were all "extranjeros" and all that!
Not too bad for a bunch of enthusiasts who haven't been brought up in Spain.
Sure a lot of it may not be technique, but I can hear it's from the heart.
I'm sure Josh could make a bit of a debut entry by at least strummin' a few bars?
How about Eddie?
And Scott?
Hey I'm sure Classical Jon could do something fine considering his excellent "Palomero" piece
Also the multitude of Michaels?
And anyone else tuning in.

Come on guys.
Make the effort.

Closing date the end of the month, so get workin'
Remember, it's not the Premio Nacional....just a bit of group playing!

cheers
Ron

Ron,

Thanks for saying what I wanted to, but didn't. I sent Florian a Tangos that sucks big time. When you hear the final version, you'll know mine, because you'll say, "man that one sucks"! Up until the time I recorded it, I hadn't hardly played any Tangos. So let's step up to the plate!

And I'll help you get it recorded.

Ron,

I didn't submit a sample because I only have my cheap computer mic to record with and didn't think my recording would fit in well considering the quality of other recordings I've heard here. I'll do one tomorrow or Thursday and Florian can decide whether he wants to use it.

Now quit nagging me.

Phil
PS Could you post the link to the rhythm track again?

Ron;

I intend to do something if god allows me to. You have no idea what is going on at my location! Too darn many things! Some I have no control over. Anyway, now that I have rationalized, I will do my best to do something for the project.

I haven't submitted anything yet because I still have not purchased any recording equipment.

Thank you Ron as always u speak the truth :)

Patrick theres is nothing wrong with your falseta at all !

I dont care about what your mic or level is , it dosent matter the idea is not to impress but to play togheder :)

but i dont want you too feel obliged to take part we will have a tangos the only difference is that it might be a 2 minute tangos instead of 5 :)

Thank you Phil i will be waiting for your falseta :)

Damn, RonM, your one tough son-of-a-gun!! Glad I don't work for you!! ;>)

Anyway, that's the way to tell em...make them get off their lazy attitudes and get with the program!! ;>)

I'm probably the least experienced player on this forum, and I was FIRST to submit a falseta, SO THERE!! Now, do as RonM says, or there will be hell to pay!! ;>)

Merle

Merle;

I can picture Ron as a training NCO in the military. However, if that were the case his language would be a "little different"!

He does remind me of my TI!

LOL!.... I was a little worried that some folk may take me too seriously, but I can say that it was written with tongue firmly in cheek!
Actually when I returned from holiday, I logged on expecting to hear the complete piece. When it wasn't there I thought perharps Florian was still working on the final mixdown.
So I was stunned when he posted a message saying that he had only 5 falsetas to work with!
Which you must admit, is a pretty poor show!
Sloth seems to be the natural human condition (well, it is for me), so unless everybody who has recording gear etc makes an effort to get something in, Florian's fun project will just peter out like a damp squib.
So come on guys, 4 bars of compas lead in and lead out with a little twiddly bit inbetween. That's all we're asking for.
The best falseta will win a free signed copy of my CD with Slim Whitman.
The worst falseta will win two free copies.

cheers,

Ron

Guys, I pledge that as soon as I move into my new house (we are closing on Sept 20), I will record a falseta and 4 bars of compas. This is the pledge drive isn't it?

Come on Michael! The end of August is the deadline! It only takes about 1/2 hour to record that much material...surely you can find that much time prior to closing on a house, right?

As a matter of fact, you probably used that much time reading and posting on this forum rather than recording that falseta? You still have 10 days, so...!! ;>)
