flamenco documentary film

Dvds of 'Spanish Steps: flamenco in a foreign land' are now available. This 67 minute documentary film about how Britain caught the flamenco bug has been a labour of love for the past 2 years. Elders of the British flamenco dance scene recount how they fell into the world of Spanish Dance which shaped their lives. Personal stories are told against a backdrop of archive film and photos.

For the film we organised a flamenco reunion party in Soho where the flamenco culture had been incubated in post-war London. Here flamencos gathered to play, sing, dance and remember the old days. In the film personal stories (told without a narrator) are intercut with scenes from the party.

Hi Anna, I enjoyed the trailer. I had no idea that such a scene existed in London. Perhaps you should mention how long the DVD will be. Also suggest you get in touch with deflamenco.com as they have an annual flamenco film concurso which you should enter. They may also review it, you could send a private message to Estela Zatania, Zata, here on the forum , who is their reviewer and of course they can sell it for you.
