Hi all....I just found this video on Youtube, apparently since last week Enrique Morente is admitted to La Luz Clinic in Madrid, let's hope he will be allright! :
RE: Enrique Morente in Hospital! (in reply to Leendert)
UPDATES:
- December 10, 12:30 pm: La Cadena Ser reported that Enrique Morente is in a coma by a stroke.
This information is provided by Radio Cadena Ser grenade at noon on Friday 10 December:
The singer Enrique Morente Granada remains in a coma, stable within the gravity and breathing spontaneously but doctors do not dare to tell the family whether it can recover. Morente few days ago he suffered a stroke after undergoing surgery for esophageal cancer last Friday at La Clinica de La Luz, Madrid.
According to Radio Granada indicated to sources close to the family, the situation is very worrying and it is unknown if the possible outcome and, if favorable, could speak and sing, taking into account that, during the operation, had to reconstruírsele the esophagus where the tumor was detected in an advanced stage. Enrique Morente was operated on last December 3, assuming an earlier stage of tumor.
I translated this with Google Translator, so forgive me for any weird or grammar errors.

Terrible news indeed. Unfortunately death is an unavoidable consequence of life.
On the bright(er) Enrique Morente is lucky to leave behind a legacy and will surely be remembered long after he's gone.
I apologize for my ignorance, but who's that guy with the gray spikes? He's that singer that sang some flamenco in English, saying something to the effect that hip-hop is similar to bulerias.

On Friday, the media reported that he was in a coma and had suffered brain damage. On Saturday, there was an update saying that he's in serious condition but stable. So, it looks like the first report about the coma and brain damage was NOT TRUE.

Hi Jimi,
The news you posted is more recent than what I've seen, but the source (El Mundo) is not as reliable, in my opinion. El País doesn't do a good job of covering flamenco news, though, so the news you posted might be right. I'm sorry to say that I came across this:
Apparently, somebody realized that if Morente was in the hospital and his family was there with him, the house would be empty, so they broke in and stole at least one vehicle.

all the sources i checked said the same thing, i just happened to link this one... it seems to be a fact now...if it turns out to be a hoax i'll be happy...

Yeah, it's on El País now as a breaking story, so it looks like it's true. Here's the family's press release as reported by the copyright authority SGAE:
