i just want to say that i honestly believe that Jason's intentions are good with his forum. I do understand why some people are upset about the name he picked for the forum though

yeah thats what i mean when i said i understand why that upset people. I dont know his motivations behind it though. im just trying to say that although he has chosen that name, I still think he has good intentions with the forum

everything he has said to me about it has been very positive.

RE: Jason has a forum (in reply to marduk

Finally managed to get a provisional computer set-up to get back on line.

Well...seems quite a bit has been happening over the past week!

(Jeez! and to think, some folk were busy PMing me and asking WHY these folk should be put on moderated posting! )

Don't get me wrong now...

I think Jason's view of himself as a big plain-talkin'..sh1t kickin'..hillbilly Texan is just great! I love it!

I love seeing him firing his six shooter off at the rest of the world! Really!

It makes me laugh...like this YouTube clip does too...

The only problem was that he was using this Forum as a platform for his assaults...and that in turn was causing US problems.

Now at last, after reading through this Forum of an evening, I can now relax and get myself a big bag of popcorn and a beer and go over to Jason's Forum and sit back and enjoy the entertainment.....in the full knowledge that HE will be on the other end of the complaint mails and litigation threats instead of us!

What could be a happier ending!

For that's all I'd ever been asking Jason for anyway.

I'm sure this new Forum of his, with it's no-rules, say-what-you-want theme, will definitely catch on.

I think this will be a great addition to his excellent and respected lessons site and will only add to his reputation amongst students, professionals and corporate entertainment agencies too!

So all is well now.

cheers,

Ron

Exactly! Deniz...

In Glasgow, we have a term "Gone Yersel' Man..." which roughly means "Olé".

It means when you are being entertained by someone (usually under the effects a few drams) doing something that you wouldn't do yourself, then you offer encouragement to fuel it up and make him even bolder...

The repercussions from the previous Saturday night have made many a dreary Monday morning on the factory floor much easier to bear for the workers hearing the tale of a colleague on a wild night out at the weekend.

All strength to Jason's arm and may he forge ahead to victory over his enemies I say!!

cheers,

Ron

I think I might start using that. Does it have to be done in a Scottish accent? My dad was from Scotland but I didn't inherit his accent.

RE: Jason has a forum (in reply to marduk

We all sometimes think, feel, do and say things that we would prefer not to have to deal with. That's the light and shade of life.

If there are 2 forums, I'm happy to participate in both.

Societies definition of sound mental health, morals and acceptable social behavior etc.. is seriously f***** up and riddled with hypocrisy, double standards and greed. I can relate when someone decides to shout to be heard.

I took a look at the "other" forum, and judging from the quality of the comments so far, one would be forgiven for thinking it is a forum for pre-adolescents. There are lots of four-letter words, a big "whoo whoo" from someone who posted while drunk, and generally the kind of stuff 12- to 14-year old boys think is really impressive. Ironically, it serves to confirm just how necessary adult supervision is for some people. Simon and his crew definitely run the serious, adult forum. We all should be grateful.

Cheers,

Bill

RE: Jason has a forum (in reply to marduk

so far myself and Jason are responsible for most of the posts,

im posting lots of youtube video's and trying to put a lot of that stuff in one place sort of like a playlist, by making posts for each artist

and i have started a series of theory lessons for complete beginners (but there are little bits of my humour thrown in and some language)

im a mod over there, ive got some experience with being staff on forums. but i am a beginner with flamenco and am mainly at the site because its another place where i can learn (this foro is the best resourse i know of, and i think jasons will compliment it nicely)

jason has been posting lessons and stuff that he had on his computer and im sure he will slowly build an awesome resource

making helpful imformative posts takes time, as a lot of you know from experience, and the forum will be quiet for a while, its only new

silly posts just for fun are really quick and easy though, so it builds up fast at the start of a new forum with no rules

now there is also the "pre adolescent" element to the site, it is there very intentionally, and the first page tries to make it really obvious what you will come across if you read further, so if you are offended by that stuff its not the place for you.

the good side of the "no rules" though, is if you saw something there you dont like, you can say it in your own words, and direct it straight at who you want to,

not many other people have posted yet, the dust is settling

I cant speak for Jason, but i really hope that some people from here would come and help us to build the resourse.

speaking from personal experience its hard being a beginner around here, and outside of all the fun and games Jason has given beginners like myself a dedicated forum for whatever we want to use it for

if anyone is offended by anything that i post, i am sorry but please understand if you read that forum, there is a lot of stuff thats sarcastic and it can get pretty R rated.

RE: Jason has a forum (in reply to marduk

don't misunderstand the following as I really respect Jason and I think he's an awesome player and I respect you .. you're a good friend ,

but why doesn't he build his resource here over this forum ?

honestly I wouldn't know anything about Jason without this forum and the banner at the top ( not anymore ) advertising his website .. and I'm sure that that banner has brought him hundreds of students as this forum is super active

so I say let him build his resource here at least as a gratitude for this forum

peace

Hey marduk - I signed up but haven't posted yet. Looking forward to being a part of things. Jason is an awesome teacher and seems like a guy I would really get along with.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of reading the complaints about this situation but I can't seem to look away! I respect the rules of this forum and the decisions of the mods, but I personally like a good argument - nice to see people hash out their differences in this world. This is flamenco, people!! Drama, strife, problems are nothing new - this is real life.

By mod you mean moderator? What do you moderate since that is the place to insult, abuse and be freely offensive?

but i really hope that some people from here would come and help us to build the resourse.

That would cause duplication and separation, in my mind it's a pain to have to go through two information source. It's better to keep the resouce centralized, here.

Hmmm.....don't know if that is quite so straightforward, Marduk....a lawyer may have a different opinion.

http://www.urban75.org/info/libel.html

I'm surprised that a "no-rules" Forum would require a Moderator?

Anyway, have fun and get prepared to handle all the "incoming" from certain artists and their representatives.

cheers,

Ron

i am just a moderator in the sense, that if anyone has any questions or need help with features on the forum, they can send me a message and i will do my best to help them. and im trying to help jason with stuff as much as possible

i understand that and repsect it, and even agree (if we had a beginner area here) but jason cant post here anymore
