RE: 2010 Jeff Sigurdson Blanca w/dua... (in reply to ralexander

I'm a bit surprised at the lack of responses considering there aren't many (any?) Sigurdson guitars on the market at the moment. I think it would be pretty hard to beat this guitar for the price. Totally handmade with all solid woods, comfortable low flamenco setup - what's not to like? My other guitar is much nicer (brazilian negra - also more $$$) - if I didn't have that I would surely keep this.

Maybe because it has the pickup!

Really? I mean, the pickup is professionally installed but very non-invasive and could be removed quite easily. I never really intended on using it, but I didn't let that detract me from buying it.

The same thing happened to me with my Anders Eliasson blanca. A very special guitar in affordable price. Nobody responded. Of course it's still on sale.

Check this...

Maybe no one has the money to buy guitars anymore...

All the best with your sale, gounaro - I was definitely admiring that one when it was first posted. I'm sure both our guitars will soon find loving new homes.

Thanks for the interest so far - all PMs/emails have been returned.

Anyone wondering about Sigurdson guitars, I bought a used student model and love this guitar. Sigurdson guitars are great value and sound amazing.

I would definitely buy a Sigurdson again (when I have more $$$ and am more advanced player).

Good luck ralexander...someone's going to get a great guitar...

By the way - string height is just over 8mm at the bridge and just under 9.5mm at the soundhole - here's a contrast shot with my negra:

Geez... if I wasn't actually waiting for my Sigurdon negra, I'd snap buy this one.

Unfortunately, I don't have a way of recording any clips at this time.

I admittedly started off a bit high with my price on this one. I didn't want to take a loss because Sigurdson's are kinda scarce at the moment (not to mention great value), but I'm going for one final price drop on this - $1300US including expedited shipping within Canada/US. I'll keep it before going any lower!

Hard for me to spend any bucks right now with Xmas coming up and taxes
Bad timing though... if it's still available in 2 months and I'm still doing well, I might take it.

Plus, I'm on Jeff's waiting list for a negra... but I'm getting tired of my blanca.

Time to refresh this one - new price!

Kinda hesitant to sell because of the excellent quality to price ratio, but I'm going to take a chance at selling both my current guitars to search for a special blanca.

$1200US including shipping in US/Canada.

Jeffs guitars are fabulous at twice the price. Problem is a used guitar won't sell in this economy even at half the original price. I cannot even get any interest in my Glenn Canin negra for less than half the price of a new one or even a trade for a peghead blanca.

Are you sure you will get that much of a better guitar for twice the price? If I didn't have so many guitars and one to trade or sell, I would buy this one at your price for a guitar to play in situations where I don't want to use my more expensive ones.

Thanks for your comments. Honestly, no I'm not sure! It plays wonderfully and sounds excellent for the price. I'm not sure how Jeff does it. It's perfect for the use you described, and it seems a lot of players are doing just that.

alright, I'm gonna sweeten the pot a bit on this one - at my current price of $1200 shipped I'll also include the following extras:

Gerhard Graf-Martinez Flamenco Guitar Vol 1 DVD - like new - $35 value
SNARK clip-on headstock tuner - $20 value
Ebony hand carved cejilla from Tony (a_arnold) here on the Foro - $40 value

To anyone concerned about the pickup, don't be! It's a very non-intrusive install. The "worst" part is the endpin, which actually comes in handy with my neck-up guitar support (check these out if you haven't already). Everything inside the guitar (preamp, mic, battery, soundhole vol knobs) is attached with small pieces of velcro and could be easily removed. If you don't need/want the pickup, remove and sell it to make some money back!

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot of that!

I've decided after experimenting with a few different guitars that I much prefer blancas. I want to get a really nice one, but with a wedding approaching later this year I can't afford to keep what I have and get something else. So, I decided to try selling both my guitars to make the upgrade. I'm a gear junkie, and this is something I've done a few times. Nothing to do with the sound or quality of either guitar, just personal preference and restlessness. This one seems harder to let go because of how good it is for the money!

Someone will be very happy with this guitar.

RE: 2010 Jeff Sigurdson Blanca (Canada) (in reply to ralexander

I have played both of ralexander's guitar ( Sigurdson Blanca and Castillo Negra) infront of his eyes. I have to say that I was very impressed with Sigurdson Blanca's brightness and tone. VERY Flamenco sounding, it sounds like the flamenco guitars that was played back in the 50's. I'm very surprised to see that he is selling it.

I would be interested in buying both of his guitars, But because I already have a Castillo Blanca, I feel like I would be more interested in buying his Castillo Negra (because I want to have 1 blanca and 1 negra)

ralexander, I think you know who I am by now. :) I will contact you soon
