Tomatito

I think Tomatito's fantastic, I think he might even be the best, but I just realised, I don't have one single CD that I like the whole way through, why's that?
(the answers NOT that I don't have any!!)
Jim.

I think he loses his focus at times, it's almost like he forgets he's trying to craft an instrumental song, and instead just keeps jamming with his eyes glazed over.

But yes, he's great. Wonderful player and composer.

Yeah Jim,
I feel the same way.
His playing on "Flamenco Vivo" with Camaron, is some of the best ever.
But his solo albums leave me quite cold.
Yet his "Encuentro" tape is truly fantastic.

Have his music and accompanying CD's. Will work on it when have chance.
At least can regognize his playing as being flamenco, which is more than can
say for some other players. One who comes to mind would be Vicente Amigo.

Recuerdos,

The answer is because you can't please all the people all of the time. Im my opinion he is the best. A true Gitano. I have all his material. All accompanying CD's, all solo CD's and all featuring him on other artist's CD's as well as every video or movie with him appearing in it. I have yet to find one that I like the whole way through.

I had never owned a CD that I liked the whole way through until this weekend. I got Paco Cepero's "De Pura Cepa" and this may be the first.

Also theres alot of pressure to come up with new material everytime every new album think about how hard that is (keep in mind how much performing , guests appearances on tv, other pple cds).

If i was to put everything down that i have come up with untill now i think i would have about 10 minutes :) unless i can do elevator music i could do that to fill a hole cd :).

so ofcourse theres gonna be the few tracks here and there that is just stuff trown togheder to fill the cd.
I still get blown away with how many albums (with substance ) pple like him and PDL have released.

Also i never ever had a cd that i liked straight away not until the 6th or 7th time that i listen to it that it grows on me.

PDL's new album may be one that we'll like the whole way through. The guy has had a few years to work on new stuff so let's hope if fresh and a little different. I'm hoping that he decided to go back to his roots for this material.
